Alyss Granger: First Year

Breakfast Surprises

Gently someone shook me awake.

"Alyss come on time for breakfast." Erin said. Then I remembered. I'm at Hogwarts.

"Yeah I'm up." I muttered thickly. I was really tired.

I quickly dressed in my robes then climbed down and after 10 minutes found my way to the Great Hall. It probably would have taken me an hour but they were being very loud. I would have been there quicker but I asked Peeves for help and he gave me the right directions so I 

went the opposite way. Turns out he was being helpful. Until I saw him stick Filch's new cat, Mrs. Morris in a suit of armor.

Believe it or not you can get on Filch's good side because I did. I told him which suit of armor Mrs. Morris was in. So he waddled off muttering, "Good girl. Alyss Granger. Unlike her rotten sister. Why can't all the little scoundrels be like her? Good kid."

I then called after him. "Excuse me? Mr. Filch. Where's the Great Hall?"

"Down the stairs and to your right." Wow. He actually answered my question he must really like me.

I then got to the Great Hall. "Hi. Teddy. Tom."

"What kept you?" Tom asked.

"Peeves. He gave me right directions so I went the wrong way. Then Filch helped me." I explained.

"Filch what?!" Teddy exclaimed.

"Helped me. I told him where Mrs. Morris was so he told me where the Great Hall was." I said slowly.

Then headmistress McGonagall stood up. "I have an announcement. There will be a new point earning thing going on. Mr. Filch has established the fact that he needs a reward for kindness to him. The kindest person gets 50 points and the worst loses 50. The list of banned objects is on Mr. Filch's door and ask your Quidditch captains for tryout times. The Forbidden Forest is forbidden to all students. Including the first year who I know will want to go in am I right, Mr. 

Lupin?" Teddy blushed. The Gryffindors laughed. "And also, Mr. Lupin, you cannot sign up for the Quidditch team until next year." Another gale of laughter. "And I urge Miss Granger that she doesn't need to study too hard yet." I blushed. "As I know she has memorized her textbook. No spells in the corridors would be good for Mr. Zabini to remember as he already has." The Gryffindors snickered. "The village of Hogsmeade is off limits to all under third year. Mr. Lupin and Mr. Zabini. If you haven’t noticed our first year class is very small this year. For those of you that do not know. These kids were all born the year of the war. A few of them are orphans because of it." I looked at Teddy but he showed no emotion. “They are a unique class and I am looking forward to see how they deal with that extra responsibly. I must say. It does not give them the right to break rules. Mr. Zabini I mean you so pay attention.” More laughter. “And Mr. Lupin I would advise you not to laugh as I mean you too.” Even Teddy laughed at that. “Now have a good term. With minimal pranks Mr. Lupin!”

"She knows me so well." Teddy muttered.

"You don't mean to say you would have done all those things?" Tom said in disbelief.

"And more." I added laughing. "With the supply of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes he has in his trunk. You'd think George might contain himself but no."

George Weasley isn't my uncle. I might need to point this out. Ron is my brother-in-law so George, Percy, Ginny, Bill and Charlie are too. Well, Ginny's a sister but still. Yeah. So Harry Potter is my brother- in-law indirectly.

"He just wants to help another generation of Marauders or something. Alyss! We forgot to celebrate your birthday!" Teddy shouted out of nowhere.
