CHAPTER 24
It had been a good two weeks since I learned of Matt’s, interesting (to say the least, secret, mysterious, to say more) life’s history. He would be staying with Hermione or Harry this summer instead of going back to the orphanage. And if there was some Golden Trio thing he would go to the Burrow with the rest of them and in essence to be treated like a Weasley as he would not enjoy the Potter family fame. Or Granger, for that matter, but to him it was better.
It was a pretty good time in those two weeks; I mean it had been until Harry Potter ran into the Great Hall during breakfast, out of breath. Instantly 4 people stood up, Teddy, McGonagall, Hermione and I.
Hermione shot me and Teddy the ‘glare’ and we sat back down as Harry continued to the high table. He whispered some things to Hermione and McGonagall.
Hermione grabbed some parchment and did her worst handwriting which is not her. She duplicated it into 3 pieces.
She dropped all professional manners when she called Teddy, Matt and I up. “You three, Ron’s been hurt guarding, Matt, Teddy and Alyss will fill you in. Michelle is holding out as they disappeared, Ron’s in the Hospital wing. Teddy, send this to Ginny, Matt this to the Ministry. Alyss tell Percy, we’re going to need a lot of authority. And he’ll tell Kingsley. Harry’s helping.” She hurried.
We set off to the owlery. I started to explain. “You know the Tale of the Three Brothers?”
“Yeah, distantly.”
“Remember the objects?” Teddy asked.
“Er, the wand, stone and cloak.”
“Yeah,” I said, “their real. And if you have them all then you’re Master of Death. Harry united them when he was 17. He’s master of death. Now others want to steal them and most people believe that if you are to gain the wand you have to kill the person. So they want to kill Harry. They stole the stone and Harry also has the cloak of invisibility.” I hoped he would understand that I was speaking truth.
“No, that’s impossible.” Matt said.
“No, Harry really summoned his parents back, got the wand from Professor Malfoy after he accidently got it from Dumbledore who won it from Grindelwald.” I said.
“Alyss, stop confusing him with all your history.”
“Well history is the surest way to prove something. Harry is descended from the third brother. So the cloak is his. He got Malfoy’s wand so he conquered the wand and he never knew he owned it until the final battle. Voldemort never had the wand. Nor did Snape. Though Voldemort thought he did but Malfoy got the wand when he disarmed Dumbledore not Snape when he killed him.”
“Yeah, and you know Harry and Voldemort were related, Harry from the third brother and Voldemort from the second!” Teddy said.
“That’s not the point.”
“What’s little loony Lupin, Easter boy and Aleese doing?” Peeves said swooping down.
I looked right at him grinning ear to ear which really annoyed Peeves, “We’re doing an errand for the headmistress.” I hoped Teddy would have enough sense not to say anything.
“Head? She trusts little wee firstie loony loopy Lupin? The wittle prankster?” Peeves said.
“Yeah, she did ickle ghostie, wee beastie Peevesie.” He said.
That made Peeves seriously mad. But something that never happened to Teddy Remus Lupin happened right then.
“PEEVES! I’ll have you expelled for this!” Filch said. “What are you doing here?” he said pointing an accusing finger at Teddy, and for good reason.
“It’s an errand for Professor Weasley, Mr. Filch.” Matt had the incredible grace to say even when I was speechless.
“And why should I believe you?”
“Because she’s my sister and I don’t lie.” I said and he seemed to just come to the realization that I was there.
“Oh, yes, Miss Granger. That one is a sneak.”
“Yeah, I’m quite sure you’re right, huh, Teddy?”
“Whatever.” Teddy muttered and Matt hit him.
“Excuse me, I would like to stay but we have to get these out.” I said sweetly and that made Matt snort.
“Mixed personalities much?” he said after Filch departed once more chasing Peeves who had disappeared.
“Shut it.”
As we exited the owlery Hermione’s slivery otter patronus came toward us.
“Professor Mallowsweet has been found, she is dead by the killing curse.”
