Assassins
"We can't just let them get away with this!" Cowboy stomped his hoof on the wood floors in the Cave. Ajax stared at the papers in disbelief.
"I know. But we also can't just jump into action right now." Abacus looked at Cowboy. Apollo looked down at the papers one more time.
"Yes, but we can't wait for to long because these weapons will be here in a short amount of time." Apollo looked up at Abacus. Abacus stood there thinking.
"Anyone have any suggestions on what we should do to handle this situation?" Abacus looked at every pony in the group. They all thought for a bit, looking at one another trying to get ideas.
"We could try to stop the shipments from leaving Kevland?..." Ajax looked at Abacus hoping his idea wasn't complete trash.
"We could send two to Kevland and two of us stay here?" Abacus looked at all of the others hoping they would put some feedback in. Apollo flicked his ears around while he thought.
"Well if the shipment hasn't left Kevland yet why would only two go?" Apollo looked at Abacus confused. Abacus had to think for a bit before just giving up.
"I'm not sure." Abacus sighed. This was harder then they expected. Cowboy looked at them.
"All of us could go to Kevland together so there would be more chances of us stopping it!" Cowboy smiled actually having a decent idea for once in his life.
"I agree with Cowboy. We work better when we are all together." Apollo nodded at Cowboy.
"The shipment doesn't get shipped for another month. I say we head out two days before and until then we deal with Cesar and Rodrigo. Okay?" Abacus looked at everyone. They all agreed. In 29 days they would begin their journey to Kevland to stop Cesar's shipment of weapons.
Abacus trotted outside. Apollo followed, curios about where his friend was going. Abacus never minded the fact that Apollo would tag along with him. Abacus pulled his hood, Apollo mimicked him.
Apollo was the real leader of the Brotherhood but Abacus liked to take charge and did a better job than Apollo so he let him. Abacus had more experience in the Brotherhood than Apollo. He loved to learn from Abacus but Apollo was more of the leader type then he was.
Apollo trotted with Abacus through the town. They weren't up to anything bad, though they never were but the horses of the city believed they were. After all they were to most wanted horses in Havana.
A group of Templar Knights were standing down the road that the two were on. Apollo got ready to canter at them but Abacus stopped in front of him.
"Leave them." Abacus looked at Apollo and trotted down a alley way. Apollo pinned his ears back looking at the knights. He could never have any fun with Abacus. It always felt like he babied Apollo. Which in a way Abacus did, he knew Apollo still had a lot to learn and was a bit reckless.
Abacus whistled for Apollo from the alley way because he had yet to follow him. Apollo looked away from the Templar Knights and looked down the alley way and trotted after his friend. The two continued going through the city.
Foals galloped through the streets playing games. Apollo and Abacus would stop and let them pass unlike the Templar Knights who would knock them down if they got in their way. Apollo trotted past a poster but then slid to a stop on the cobblestone. He walked back wards and looked at the wanted poster of him.
Abacus walked back to where Apollo was and looked at it. Apollo grabbed one of the corners in his mouth and tore it off the wall and smiled at Abacus.
"I think I'm gonna keep this one." Apollo rolled it up and put it in his jacket. Abacus laughed. They both trotted on their way again through the city.
Apollo trotted with his ears perked forward looking around. Abacus trotted next to Apollo but more relaxed then Apollo was. Cesar's castle, a four story gray stone and brick massive square with four tours on each corner and a very big pointed roof in the middle which held the courtyard in the center, was not to far ahead. Massive Templar flags hung from the walls while smaller ones flew on poles that sat in the fence surrounding the castle.
Abacus looked at it and pinned his ears as they trotted by. Apollo was to distracted by other things to even notice the castle. Abacus was getting tired of trotting so fast, he hadn't noticed how fast Apollo was trotting until his legs started to burn. He wasn't as young as he once was.
Apollo bounced up and down as he trotted. Abacus started to canter slowly to give his legs more of a break. Apollo noticed Abacus cantering and joined in. The two cantered through the rest of the town toward the forest. A cliff rested at the back of Cesar's castle.
The two friends raced each other to the top of the cliff. Abacus broke to a walk faster then Apollo. He didn't want to accidentally fall over the cliff because who knows how good Apollos stopping is and they all know Apollo would take Abacus down with him on accident.
Apollo galloped to the edge of the cliff and reared neighing loudly as he pawed at the sky. Oh, how badly Apollo wanted to fly like the Eagles could! He dreamed about it so much, though he knew it could never happen. He was bound to the ground like a anchor to the sea floor. But sometimes when he galloped he felt as if he was flying. He set his front legs on the ground and whinnied.
Abacus watched his friend. He knew what it was like to dream about something and wish it would come true but know it could never happen. Abacus laid on the edge of the cliff, his front hooves hanging over the edge. Apollo sat next to him. The two watched the sun set over the town they fought so hard to protect.
Apollo looked up at the clouds and watched them get blown away by the gentle breeze. Abacus smiled as the sun touched the horizon.
"Do you ever wonder what's up there?" Apollo watched the stars slowly appear as the sun left for the night.
"Like what?" Abacus looked at Apollo, who was still sitting looking up at the sky.
"Maybe some other horses live on Fallout, or Destiny! We can't be the only ones right? There are so many other planets out there. Others have to hold life!" Apollo looked at Abacus and smiled.
"I guess..." Abacus said a little skeptical. He didn't want to crush Apollo so he went with what his friend was saying. "Do you think we will ever meet them?" Abacus looked at Apollo trying to ignore how ridiculous the question was.
"I hope so." Apollo looked back up at the night sky.
