Assassins
Apollo trotted down the stairs of the Cave before the sun even started to rise. Abacus was already up, working on papers by the light of a candle. Apollo noticed Abacus working and walked as quietly as possible to the door.
"You're up early." Abacus heard Apollos attempts to be quiet.
"Ya..." Apollo always wondered how Abacus knew who it was without even looking up. Apollo looked back at Abacus, he didn't have his jacket on yet because it was so early, just a blanket and a cup of coffee next to the papers.
"Where are you off to?" Abacus looked up at Apollo.
Apollo didn't think any pony would be up so he wasn't sure how to respond to any questions because he didn't think his plan this far through. "Uh... I am... Going... To... The..." Apollo looked around the room for a idea of where he could say he was going.
"You are going to Cadence's castle aren't you?" Abacus laughed a little at Apollos attempts to be sneaky and go to Cadences castle when Abacus would have let him. He didn't understand Apollo most of the time.
"Yes..." Apollo looked at Abacus hoping that he wouldn't get into any trouble for this. He didn't remember them making any plans for today.
"Alright. Have fun!" Abacus smiled at Apollo. Apollo nodded and trotted out the door and galloped for Cadence's castle.
Ajax walked down the stairs. Abacus looked up at him. There's another horse Abacus didn't understand. Ajax just seemed to be so out of it lately. He was never around, especially when the group was fighting.
Ajax walked out the door. Abacus stared at the door. He wanted to follow him just to see where he does but it would be an invasion of privacy. He could just make Cowboy do it when he woke up. Abacus went back to reading his papers and working on them.
Apollo galloped through fields for a long time. The sun rose fully above the horizon when he could see the city that surrounded Cadences castle. He smiled as he galloped.
Apollo slowed to canter when he hit the city streets. They were narrow and crowded, but Apollo kept cantering. The horses here were so polite. They would step out of eachothers way if it was needed. Apollo smiled at all of them.
Apollo finally reached the castle. He never used the front door, it was to main stream for him. He jumped up to the roof of the small run in shed that leaned against the wall. From the shed roof he launched himself up onto the castle walls.
The guards were use to seeing Apollo do this. They all said hi as he galloped by and he responded. He leaped from the wall to the first floor roof of a branch of the castle. He slid a bit but regained his balance.
After climbing around for a bit Apollo finally reached the balcony of Cadences room. He trotted inside. But when he looked around, no Cadence. Maybe she was just some where else in the castle.
Apollo trotted out of her room and down the hall. After a while of looking around he couldn't find Cadence any where. Apollo started asking some of the ponies who worked in the castle if they saw her.
Each time he asked some pony if they had seen Cadence they all would respond with either "no" or "she's still in her room." Where could she be? It's not like her to ever stand Apollo up like this. They made plans almost two days ago to hang out for the day.
Apollo sighed and lowered his head.
He didn't feel like taking his usual way out, might as well just use the front doors. As Apollo walked to the front doors he heard some pony galloping. He turned around and saw a small gray Shetland pony galloping up to him."Apollo?" The pony looked up at Apollo.
"Yes?" Apollo smiled at the pony. She was so small Apollo felt like if he lowered his head any more it would be touching the ground.
"This is for you." The pony handed Apollo a letter.
"Thank you!" Apollo nodded at the pony. The pony bowed and trotted back to what she was doing previously. Apollo looked over the envelope. Why would some pony leave him a letter at Cadences castle?
Apollo flipped the letter over to open it, but the red wax stamp that held the envelope shut caught his eye. In the center of the cooled wax was the Templar symbol. Apollo looked at the symbol confused.
Apollo tore open the envelope and pulled the letter out, holding the envelope behind the letter. Apollo looked at the letter but it only had 3 words and a name.
Come get her.
~CesarApollo stared at the letter. He was in awe that he let this happen! How could this have happened?! Apollo dropped the letter on the floor and bolted out the front doors.
Apollo raced home as fast as his legs could take him. He bursted through the front door of the Cave breathing hard. Abacus looked up startled.
"What happened to you?" Abacus looked at Apollo concerned.
"CESAR HAS CADENCE!" Apollo paced around stressing out about this. He hoped Cadence was okay and that they wouldn't hurt her.
"What?! How?! Wait why?... What?..." Abacus shook his head confused and looked at Apollo.
"I DON'T KNOW!" Apollo trotted in place really fast stressing out. Abacus was so confused as to why Cesar wanted Cadence. When Apollo became a little less stressed the two friends just looked at each other not knowing what to do and why this was even happening.
