Assassins

"Has Ajax been acting weird to you lately?" Apollo watched Abacus walk around organizing papers and books in his cluttered work space. Apollo was never the neatest so Abacus always volunteered to clean up for Apollo because it bothered Abacus.

"Weird?" Abacus understood the question but he wanted to know what Apollos definition of weird was in this circumstance.

"Ya... It seems that every time we go on a mission he just magically disappears or gets sick. It's really annoying! And half the time now he's gone for the entire day when he's SUPPOSE to be helping out around here." Apollo snorted annoyed.

"In that case yes he has." Abacus noticed changes in their friends behavior over the past few months but always thought he was just being paranoid.

"I say we tie him to a post! No food or water. Three days." Apollo smiled and tossed his head up a little pleased with his decisions.

"That seems a little pointless don't you think? And besides there are better ways to solve this problem!" Abacus used his tail to dust off the lower parts of the book cases.

"'Better ways.' Unless your 'better ways' involve head butting Cesar off the top of a very tall wall then count me out." Apollo laid down watching his friend work.

"Remind me again of how Cesar got into this conversation?..." Abacus put some papers into files and filed them. "Honestly how do you manage to make his room this messy?! You're almost never in here!"

"Well... To be fair I stash some of my good food in here and I was VERY convinced some pony had stolen my rolled oats dipped in honey bar but after digging through everything for like 30 minutes I found it under my desk!" Apollo smiled big.

"So you weren't even working?..." Abacus hit his head on the wall a few times questioning why he volunteered to clean Apollos work space again. But being the good friend he was Abacus finished cleaning up Apollos work space. "There. Now don't mess it up for a while."

"OKAY! THANK YOU!" Apollo smiled big and trotted out of the room with his head and tail up.

"Welcome..." Abacus huffed, Apollo needed some serious help, he was probably dropped on his head as a colt. Abacus laughed a little at the thought and shook his head.

Hoof steps that were attempted to be quiet, made their way down the stairs. Abacus looked up. He saw Ajax walking quietly as possible down the wooden stairs. Ajax had his hood up, which was normal for an assassin, and his mask on like usual, but he didn't even stop to say hi to Abacus.

Ajax walked out the door of the Cave. Abacus tilted his head. Apollo was right... Ajax had been acting weird for a while but Abacus just brushed it of like dust.

Only one way to find out what was wrong with their friend. Abacus started to follow Ajax but stopped.

"I am not going to let Apollo get me into one of his foolish colt games. Honestly. Not being able to trust Ajax?" Abacus laughed a little and shook his head at the thought. It was foolish to think that, but not in the way Abacus was thinking.

Abacus walked back in side. He heard a loud crash from up stairs. Apollo. Why did he have to destroy everything in the Cave? That horse is a one pony recking crew.

Apollo galloped down the short upstairs hall wall and made the sharp turn to the stairs sliding on the wood.

"ABACUS!" Apollo said while he galloped sliding around.

"APOLLO BE CAREF-" Abacus was to late with that. Apollo dove face first down the stairs and slid across the floor on his stomach at the bottom. Abacus had to try his best to refrain from laughing. "What's wrong? Besides the fact you can't gallop."

"How sweet!" Apollo hopped up and grabbed a piece of paper. "I KNOW HOW TO KILL CESAR!" Apollo hopped up and down excited. He made it his goal in life to see it through the Cesar Borgia died, ever since the day Cesar killed Apollos family in front of him by hanging them.

"Calm yourself young one," Abacus took the paper from Apollo and set it on his desk to look over it. He understood his friends ambitions but he did need to learn some patients.

While Abacus looked over the paper and Apollo watched Abacus look over the paper, a sudden thud went down the stairs.

"... Ow..." Cowboy laid on the floor at the bottom of the stairs. Apollo laughed really hard seeing that another pony fell down the stairs and that it wasn't just him.

Abacus took a deep breath in trying to ignore the novices he had to work with and continued reading. Apollo watched Cowboy stand back up and shake off like a dog.

Cowboy walked out the doors of the Cave. Boooooo Apollo just lost his entertainment. Apollo went back to watching Abacus read the paper.

"This should defiantly work." Abacus looked up at Apollo and nodded. Wow his friend actually came up with a solid plan on his own for once... That's a first!

"Really?!" Apollo tried not to sound to shocked, his ideas seemed to always get shot down so for this one to get the actual okay from Abacus was a pretty big deal!

"Yes, but... It's gonna need a little bit of tweaking." Abacus looked over the plan again then at Apollo. Apollos ears went to the side as Apollo gave Abacus a very blank expression of pure I absolutely hate you right now for doing this to me.

"But I worked so hard on it!!!" Apollo whined.

"I can tell and you did a very good job on it but it's just that you kind of forgot to put in a few steps... I can help you do it and you can take all of the credit I won't mind." Abacus smiled slightly at Apollo.

Before Apollo could respond a massive explosion rattled the Cave and gun fire made the street sound like a war zone.

Abacus and Apollo looked at one another and pulled their hoods up. The two bolted out of the building toward the kayos.

Apollo slid to a stop in disbelief of what he was seeing. Abacus did the same.
