Three Musketeers

Caviar galloped through the forest, weaving through the trees. She could hear the thunder of hooves behind her. She raced forward away from the sound. Her hooves broke the hard dirt below her leaving hoof prints as she went, her tail flew behind her in the wind. She didn't stop.

The sound of hooves got louder. Caviar kept going not looking back. She broke out of the trees into the hilly grass lands. Trooper and Totillas bolted after her. They both didn't have the stride like Caviar, but that didn't matter.

Caviars ears went back as she listened to Trooper's and Totillas's hooves. She smirked as she galloped. How easy it was for her to win in races against those two.

A flash of white, black, and blue flew past Caviar. She perked her ears forward startled. Totillas shot off and left them in the dust. Caviar snorted.

"Not this time Totillas." She muttered to herself. She propelled herself forward off her back legs, opening her stride. She chased after Totillas. Trooper was still at the back trying to catch up but he wasn't exactly built for stuff like this.

Caviar caught up with Totillas. They were neck and neck. Not letting off one another as they both pushed each other harder then ever before.

Trooper sped up a bit. His chest was covered in foamy sweat. He was breathing so hard but didn't want to give up. He chased after his friends who were getting further and further away.

"Give up yet?" Totillas said when he could manage the breath. Caviar laughed. She's didn't have the breath to say anything back but she wasn't ready to quit. The two raced on.

Totillas broke ahead. Caviar was falling behind. She stretched out as she galloped, throwing her front legs straight out in front of her as she went. She slowly began to catch up with Totillas.

Trooper had lost sight of Caviar and Totillas. He continued to gallop forward. He knew that they were racing to the only apple tree up on one of the hills. His veins were bulging on his neck. This was the hardest he had ever galloped in his entire life but he pushed on.

The apple tree came into sight for Caviar and Totillas. They kept going. Faster then before.

The two started up the hill. They both passed it at the same time. Totillas and Caviar kept going slowly coming to a walk. They were both out of breath. Caviar looked at Totillas. She had never seen him run so fast but hey, they didn't do this often and he usually hangs back with Trooper. Where was Trooper?

Caviar looked around for Trooper. Totillas looked at Caviar.

"Lose something?" Totillas tilted his head still breathing hard.

"Ya, Trooper." Caviar looked at Totillas.

"He's coming, he's just a little out of shape is all!" Totillas smiled. They both walked around in silence as they tried to catch their breath.

Trooper passed the apple tree a little while later. He stopped at the bottom on the other side of the hill. His legs were shaking as he tried to catch his breath.

"Good job Trooper!" Totillas smiled. Trooper nodded at him feeling light headed from all that galloping. Caviar and Totillas had already got their breath back. Trooper stood there with his head down and his legs spread apart a bit as he tried to catch his breath.

Totillas and Caviar climbed the hill. Caviar laid down under the apple tree as they waited for their friend to catch his breath. Totillas looked out over the hills.

He looked at the sky. You could see Pandora in the day sky. Pandora looked like a blue Jupiter with rings and was very close to Valhalla. Totillas smiled looking at it.

Caviar looked at the forest the had just galloped out of. It looked so far away. She laughed on the inside. She never thought she would have ever been able to gallop that had all this way.

Trooper scaled the hill when he caught his breath. He sat down in the shade of the apple tree. They all were tired. The sun began to set and the sky became painted with an array of colors.

Totillas jumped up and grabbed an apple in his mouth. Caviar watched him. He landed a few feet in front of her and walked toward her. He placed the apple in front of her and trotted to a space on the hill a little further away from the apple tree. He laid down.

Caviar looked at him and then the apple. She smiled and ate it. She looked over to the side. Trooper was sprawled out fast asleep. She smiled and rolled her eyes at him. She laid her head down and closed her eyes. She fell asleep.

Totillas perked his ears forward at the moon in the sky. He stared at it. Some nights he couldn't take his eyes off of it. His mom always told him when he was a colt, that everyone can see the moon, and if you have a loved one far away you can look at the moon and they will be looking there to.

Totillas smiled at the thought. The stars danced above the group in the night sky. Totillas closed his eyes knowing they were safe. He fell asleep.
