White Knights

Aldiar trotted out to the fields where the Knights trained. He did not wear his crown because he did not like the attention but all of the guard stopped and bowed then continued on with what they were doing. It just made Aldiar feel... Uncomfortable.

As he trotted he looked around for Recker. The palomino should stand out but in the sea of silver armor it was hard to tell. He looked around before seeing Recker sword fighting with a new recruit. Aldiar walked that way. Recker took out the trainees legs and he fell. Recker helped him back up and saw his friend.

"Why don't you go get yourself cleaned up. Good job today!" Recker smiled at the novice knight. He smiled and nodded.

"Yes sir! Thank you sir!" He bowed when he saw Aldiar and then galloped off. Aldiar awkwardly nodded when the trainee bowed. Recker laughed and took off his helmet. The ram horns on it got stuck on his ear but with another tug he got it off. Aldiar laughed at Recker. All of the white knights helmets had metal ram horns of some sort. It was their symbol.

"Didn't know the horns were suppose to latch on to your ears." Aldiar smirked. Recker laughed.

"Maybe my ears just have a thing for ram horns! So, what brings you to the training fields?" Recker started to walk and Aldiar followed.

"What? I can't just come see my friend without being questioned?" Aldiar laughed a little.

"Just making sure I was still the priority in your life and not some mare." Recker smirked.

"Come on Recker I don't even like her! And even if I did it's not like I would ever be allowed to marry her." Aldiar looked at Recker unimpressed.

"Sure," Recker laughed. "But I know you like her." He smirked.

"For the last time I do not like her!" Aldiar rolled his eyes. Recker pranced as he walked.

"You like a mare! You like a mare!" Recker chanted as he pranced. The other guards training looked at him funny. Aldiar tried to hide his face embarrassed.

"Recker horses are looking at you weird please stop..." Aldiar muttered. Recker looked at the guards.

"It's okay because they know if they judge me then I'll just MAKE THEM RUN EXTRA before training tomorrow!" Recker laughed and continued to prance off still chanting. Aldiar smiled awkwardly at the guards who went back to training not wanting to run extra tomorrow morning. Aldiar cantered after Recker. "Is it who I think it is that you like?" Recker smiled.

     "Yes." Aldiar smiled a little.

"But she's pretty! Why would you not be allowed to marry her?" Recker asked as they walked through the castle halls.

"Lower your voice please." Aldiar said looking around.

"Oh sorry! How come you wouldn't be allowed to marry her?" Recker whispered. Aldiar laughed.

"The same reason it has always been." Aldiar sighed.

"Well! When you are king you can change that rule!" Recker jumped up and down as they walked. His hooves made a lot of noise as they hit the tile floors. A slave peered down the hall and shushed Recker. "Why don't you shush!" He laughed and walked normally. He winked at the slave as they walked past.

The slaves in the castle were not treated worse then other horses or thought of as any pony less they just were born into it. Aldiar respected them all and showed it with everything he did. The friends kept walking.

"So I saw that you ordered a group of spy's to go into Lyonesses." Recker looked at the painting as they walked even though he's seen them many times.

"Somethings going on there I just wanted to know what." Aldiar nodded and kept walking. The two came to a door and Recker pushed it open.

The doors led to the court yard. The two walked out. Bushes, flowers, trees and grass were every where. Slaves were tending to the gardens. Aldiar noticed the doors weren't open.

"Can we please open the doors! It's a nice day!" He smiled. The slaves did as instructed, opening all of the doors that led from the courtyard into the castle. "Thank you!" Aldiar looked at all of them as the slaves went back to their work.

Recker walked through the court yard. He left his helmet inside because he was sick of carrying it. Aldiar walked next to his friend. Right as Aldiar was about to say something a smaller knight in full armor bursted into the courtyard.

"Sam? What's wrong?" Recker looked at the knight.

"The black knights are advancing!" Sam was catching his breath from galloping all that way.

"Okay. Warn the horses in castle. I will round up the Knights." Recker looked at Sam who nodded and galloped back in the castle. Recker trotted over to where he left his helmet and put it back on. Aldiar followed.

"Recker what do you want me to do?" Aldiar smiled wanting to help his friend. Recker strapped his helmet down.

"Stay away from the Black Knights. We will handle this I want you in the castle." Recker looked at his friend. Aldiar sighed.

"Alright. Be safe." Aldiar nodded knowing that he needed to listen to Recker. Recker nodded back and galloped off for the fields. Sam was still rounding up the slaves and other horses who lived in the castle. Aldiar trotted up to the watch tower annoyed that he couldn't help.

Recker galloped to where the other Knights were. He slid to a stop by a group of them. They were all ready with their weapons.

"How do you want to attack this Recker?" One of the guards who held a bow and arrow looked at him.

"I want shields up front. Archers I want you right behind them, switch back each time you shoot with the row behind you. If we are lucky we won't have any hoof to hoof combat but these horses like to play dirty. If and when the make it to us I want the archers to step back, shields I want you to ram them and horses with any other weapons we are diving right in. Do NOT let them get ANYWHERE near the castle! Do I make my self clear?" Recker looked at the sea of silver armor and ram horns. The white knights stomped their hooves ready to battle the black Knights.

The horses galloped to their positions watching the Black Knights get bigger and bigger. Sam galloped up to Recker.

"All of the horses are safely in the castle sir! What would you like me to do now?" Sam smiled.

"I want you to protect Aldiar. If we fail and the black Knights get up there's you will sacrifice yourself before they even lay a hoof on him. Got it?" Recker looked at Sam.

"Got it!" Sam smiled. They head butted each other and Sam galloped back to the castle. Recker took care of Sam, he was the youngest white knight ever. Recker turned around looking at the black Knights.

"Archers ready!" Recker waited to give the command at the perfect time.
