Slow Dancing and Coffee Cups

Chapter 9

CHAPTER 9:

~~~~~~~~Niall's POV~~~~~~~

I opened my eyes and sleepily stretched out on the couch. I reached to the coffee table that is set a foot from the edge of the couch to check my phone. I figured it would be blown up with tweets from fans and messages from management. I scrolled through and didn't see anything worth looking at. I tweeted a thank you to the fans for the get well wishes and then put my phone back down on the table. I wonder where Brentley is and what she is doing today. I want to see her today. I remembered that she had saved her number in my phone to text her. I reached again to the table and got my phone.

To: Brentley

'Hello, this is Niall! I was wondering, what are your plans for today?'

I then call Louis to get advice and to help me into the wheel chair that Paul got me so I am not stuck on the couch all day.

"Hey mate! Glad you are awake! I will be right there!" Said Louis as soon as he answered the phone then ended on me before I could respond.

The door quickly opened and Louis walked in then shut the door abruptly behind him.

"How are you feeling? Did you sleep well? Do you need anything?" Louis asked looking sincerely worried and a bit shy like when he does when he knows something the other person doesn't and it isn't good news.

"I am fine thanks I just need help into the wheelchair. And I slept quite well. The pain medicine helped a lot. Oh..and Louis....What are you hiding from me?" I asked trying to get to what he was hiding. He helped me lift up and over into the wheelchair that he had set next to the couch. Once I was comfortable I just stared at Louis until he answered the question.

"Look so I invited Brentley to come and visit today. She is here with Shea to come and check on you as well as stay for the show. You were still asleep when they arrived so I took them to meet the rest of the lads first. Then Liam started making a move and took Brentley out of the room to apparently check on you but I know him and he was taking her to talk. Don't worry I can see the way she looks at you and it is completely different than the way she looks at Liam and the rest of us. She does like you, we just need to get you two together before Liam starts to really make a move. I will talk to Liam, and you just worry about spending time with Brentley. Sound like a deal?" Louis said trying to explain everything thoroughly and calmly.

"Okay, sounds like a deal. I can't blame Liam because he doesn't know. But he will soon. And thanks mate for inviting her." I said as we began to roll to where everyone was sitting.

"Hey look who decided to finally open his eyes!" Harry said laughing and giving me a cheeky grin.

"Very funny! But I swear that pain medicine puts you to sleep!" I said pretending like I was my normal self but Iworried about Brentley being with Liam.

"Well lets go and get Liam and Brentley to play a game of football!" Louis said excitedly as he took me in the direction of where Brenley and Liam went.

We walked, or rolled, in to a room to where I could hear Liam laugh. Brenley was sitting across from Liam with a smile that I could tell wasn't her honest smile. Knowing this made a grin grow across my face.

"Hey we are going to play a game of football! Let's go!" Louis said as we came next to where they were sitting.

"Hey Brenley! It's good to see you." I said as I looked up at her as she got out of her chair.

"Hey Niall! It's good to see you too! Can I help?" She said as she pointed to the handles of the wheelchair.

"Yes thank you." I said as I felt my cheeks blush a little bit.

While we were talking we forgot about Louis and Liam who had stepped out of the room. Brentley helped and rolled me to the inside of the arena where we would play. We rolled to the edge where the outsides of the rows of seats would be and stopped. I couldn't play but I want to watch.

"Would you mind if I sat and watched with you?" Brentley asked showing me her sweet smile.

"Of course! So how have you been?" I asked trying to keep conversation and hide my excitement that she wanted to spend time with me.

She pulled up a chair and sat down looking at Harry, Zayn, and Shea get ready to play.

"I have been good! Class got canceled today so I was able to come and visit! How have you been?" She said with excitement and I could hear a slight nervous shake in her voice.

"I am glad you could come! And I have been great actually! Surprising I know since what happened last night! The pain medicine made me sleep like a rock so I feel well rested! We haven't really gotten the chance to talk so I don't know much about you. What is your favourite food?" I asked as I saw Louis and Liam enter into the arena. Louis looked over at me and winked, I guessed letting me know that he took care of Liam for me.

"I am glad the medicine helped! I don't really have a favourite food but one of my favourite places to eat is Nando's! What is your favourite food?" She asked looking eager to hear my answer.

As I was going to answer when I saw the game was beginning. It was Harry and Zayn against Shea, Louis, and Liam.

"Mine is Nando's too! What do you like from there??" I asked while thinking that if I could take her on a date I would take her to Nando's. It would be a chill and fun dinner date.

"I typically get the medium peri peri chicken wings! They are really good!" She said smiling as she watched the game and get excited when Shea almost got a goal.

We continued to watch as Harry and Louis continually yell and scream banter to each other while Liam, Shea, and Zayn just laughed and played. Brentley would look at me put of the corner of her eye which I found cute and she would sometimes bite her lip when the game became intense. In this moment I truly felt completely happy. Shea's phone began to ring and she answered it quickly. As she listened I saw her face change from a smile to complete fear.
