*10 years later*

I stood at the boardwalk of the big city, Magnolia. I didn't know why I came here, to be honest, but I planned on finding out... Something. Anything. I haven't been successful in the past, but I knew I was bound to find something here. No, I have to find out about something here. I patted down my red vest, black trousers, and fixed my black scarf, it was all I had from my parents..... Whoever they were.

The wind blew against me, messing up my jet black hair. I know, it wasn't exactly normal to see a 16 year old boy with black hair and purple eyes but hey, nobody's perfect. Recently, I've been seeing these vision-type things in my dreams, and I saw this boy fighting with me. I didn't know if that was a sign but it lead me here, and I intended to find out why.

I made my way up the stone steps and up the street. Based on what I've been told, Magnolia has many guilds, whatever those are, and hopefully someone at one of these guilds could help me find my parents. Many people kept giving me weird looks and strange glanced like I was some freak. I was used to it though, because that happened no matter where I ended up. I just kept my head down and continued walking, even though I occasionally bumped into some random marketer or cranky passerby.

Something caught my eye as I looked up to see a huge building with a sign above that read 'Fairy Tail'. Hey, maybe someone there could help me. But then again, could I ever find someone to help me?

I walked into the building to see a bunch of people laughing, talking, drinking and.... Fighting. So this is what a guild's like. But it didn't last for long. When someone noticed me, it grew quiet, very quiet. Everyone just stared at me..... Again. I continued walking to the bar ahead and caught a few glares hear and there. I sat at the bar and looked up to see a white-haired girl smiling.

"Hi," she greeted, "My name is Mirajane Strauss. How can I help you? Are you lost?"

"Y-yes," I stammered, "I need help with something and-"

Someone tapped on my shoulder, causing me to turn around. "Who the hell are you, trespassing in our guild??" He had pink hair, and kinda wore the same things as me. Only his vest was black and zipped with one long sleeve, a white scarf, and white trousers. He crossed his arms and looked down on me because I was sitting.

Natsu.

Why did that name appear in my head? I shook my head to clear my mind. "I'm just lost.... Natsu." I whispered his name so he didn't hear.

He took a step back, with a cringed look. "How do you know my name?!"

So he's a Dragon Slayer, then. It's the only explanation for his sharp senses. This could be interesting for sure.

"I-I didn't know that was your name," I stammered.

A small man with little white hair came walking down the steps, in front of me and Natsu. "Back off, Natsu!!!! Can't you see this boy is frightened?"

At this, Natsu took a step back and sat at a table with some other people. I'm guessing that this Natsu guy won't like me at all.

The man said, "Come boy, and we'll talk in private." And he lead me up to his office.

"Sit down," He said as I closed the door behind me. "Now, what is your situation?"

"Well," I put my hands behind my head, "I've been searching........for my parents. I don't remember anything of them and I only have this scarf from them. This whole time, I've wandered the world trying to find something, anything, about them and I ended up here." I looked this man in the eyes. "I don't know why my journey led me here but if I'm a bother to the other people down there then I'll leave. I don't want to be a burden to you or them."
