*1 year later*
I sat at the bar in the guild, drinking my life away. My eyes were heavy with dark rings and this was the first time since Lucy.....that I came to the guild. There was nothing to be done with my life anymore. Death could come take me at anytime, I don't even care at this point.
Someone came into the guild and took a seat beside me.
"How may I help you?" Mira asked the person.
"Can I get a beer?" The person, man, replied.
I sat up and looked at the guy. He looked very familiar. His eyes were purple like mine and his hair was jet black and pulled back in a ponytail, the ends sticking out. A scar ran down his left eye and his cloak covered his mouth.
He'd seen me looking at him and frowned. "What happened to you?"
Mira glanced nervously at me then and the man. "I don't think he wants to talk about it."
"Life happened, and I screwed up." I glared at him.
"Well," he pondered. "Then get the hell over it. It's simple, just forget about it and get on with your life."
I froze and threw him to the ground with one hand. "Did you just tell me to get over it? You don't know a thing about me and you think you have the nerve to tell me to 'get the hell over it?!'"
I felt the raging anger course through my veins and release from my body. The pure hatred I had for this guy fueled my aura, turning black and purple. I knelt down and gripped his throat, gathering cold flames in my other hand. "You're going to regret ever coming into this guild."
Natsu and Gray were trying to pull me off of him. "Dude, you need to calm down!"
I punched Natsu with one hand and kicked Gray away. "LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"
I turned back around and gripped the man's neck again. I brought my other hand closer. "Devil Slayer's Secret Art: Unholy Shear Flame."
The guy's face paled. "T-that magic..."
Erza pointed a sword at my throat. "Lycas, you need to stop."
The man looked between me and Erza then looked back at me. "Lycas?"
I looked down at him and released his throat. The fire extinguished from my palm and I shook the excess ash away. "Yeah, who's asking?"
"You're brother, Jasik." He replied quietly.
I stopped and took a step back. Wait..... Jasik! He was Himiki's right-hand-man.
"You...." I took another step and trembled at his words.
"What's wrong?" Erza asked, concern filled her voice.
I shook my head and darted out of the guild. This couldn't be true! I couldn't have any living relatives, they're....
They're....
I don't know what happened to them...
I turned the corner and rushed into the apartment complex, up to my room, and slammed the door behind me. I went through my dresser and found the small box.
When I woke up from a coma 10 years ago, there was a box with me. I had the key with me, but I never opened it. I was afraid of what would happen if I ever opened it in the past. Something, a gut feeling, gnawed at me as if to tell me that I have to open it now.
Grabbing the key from my dresser top, I shakily placed it in the key hole. I turned the key and heard a click, causing the top to open completely. Inside, there were small things: notes, pictures, a dragon ring, and a....zippo?
In one of the pictures, there was a happy family. A little boy with black hair and purple eyes sat on top of a man's shoulders. The man had the same black hair, but with red eyes, crimson. A woman stood beside him, smiling at the boy, her hair dark purple and wavy and brown eyes. They were in front of a large brick house, the bushes neatly trimmed by a professional. I flipped the picture over and saw the writing; Lycas, Caleb, and Hannah Ichigua.
I picked up another photo and saw it was of the same boy, but he was standing beside a different person. The other boy was probably no older that 16, looked the same as the younger one, but with shaggier hair and a more matured face. In the back it read; Lycas and Jasik Ichigua. Two happy brothers.
Tears blurred my eyes as I looked at the picture of the family...my family. I had a happy family and I remember none of it. I mean, Natsu's my biological brother, but I never knew how happy my foster family was.
Now you know, Lycas. They obviously never cared if they didn't want you around.
I clutched my head. The voice throbbed in my head, like someone trying to beat their way from the inside out. But it didn't matter, I had to get back to the guild.
Sticking the photo in my pocket, I ran down and out the front door of the apartment complex. I dashed down the street and rounded the corner, hoping that Jasik was still there.
I burst through the guild doors, looking frantically around, searching for where he might be. I saw him sitting at the bar, thank god. I appeared behind him and cleared my throat.
Jasik turned around and his face paled again. "Y-you.... I'm sorry, okay? I didn't know what-"
"Stop," I cut him short, pulling the picture from my pocket and showing him it. "Tell me what you remember."
"I.....I remember that day," he gasped. "That was the same day you disappeared. Dad and mom were found dead and you were gone... I went looking for you and I...I failed. Then here you are, 10 years later."
"Who was the man with the white beard?" I pressured.
Jasik tilted his head. "Man with the white beard?"
"That's what I said," I frowned. "I remember a man with a white beard. He...he was there the night when it happened. I don't remember that much, only that he kept saying that I wasn't right..."
Makarov came at some point. "Did this man have an eyepatch and very muscular?"
I nodded.
"Damn it, Hades." Makarov cursed.
I tilted my head. "Who's Hades?"
Gray stepped beside me and placed a hand on my shoulder. "Hades is the master of a dark guild named Grimoire Heart. We took out one of their HQs, remember? It was our first mission, you and Natsu blew up the place. Well their master wasn't too pleased and that's who it is."
I thought for a minute, processing all of the information.
I know now who is my new enemy: Hades of Grimoire Heart.
