It's been about 3 weeks since I fought Hades, but it's felt so much longer than that. The same night when the chauffeur picked me up, like he said, Val was there. She wasn't entirely excited when she saw the state I was in. The driver quickly took me to the room I was staying in and the maids tended to my injuries immediately. I had been bedridden ever since...
So now I just laid in bed, dozing in and out of consciousness whenever I stopped thinking about anything whatsoever. There were times when I was conscious and I'd find Val asleep in a chair next to my bed.
I thought it was adorable how she slept so peacefully, but it was when she was awake that ruined it. She'd either be crying over me or demanding to know what I did to get the injuries. I would never be up long enough to tell her what happened, though. I probably won't tell her that until I talk to Master Makarov first, at least.
My wounds were practically healed by now, thanks to the maids and Val's mother, Teresa. She had been really kind to me when she found out who I was. Her father, Neil, already knew that I was here and had allowed me to stay here until I got better. I guess they didn't forget who I was from the past either, considering the adoring, mushy-gushy looks they gave me and Val when we were together.
I sat up, only to be met with black spots dotting my vision. I swayed a little absentmindedly, until my vision cleared. The amount of magic I used took a heavy toll on my body, causing me to feel weaker than usual, but I was better now.
Getting up and grabbing some new bandages, I grabbed a pair of clean pants and headed for the bathroom. I had forgotten that I was in practical rags at this point, so I just threw them away.
I stepped in the shower and turned on the hot water, letting it run down my back. I gasped slightly when the water reached my wounds that still haven't fully healed yet. I placed a hand on my shoulder blade and used Troia to finish up the healing.
A knock on the door caused me to jump a bit, as I was finishing up. I turned the water off and stepped out, patting myself down with a towel so I was dry. I wrapped the towel around my waist and opened the door to see Val standing there with a groggily smile on her face.
"Morning beautiful," I smiled.
"Morning Ly," Val replied dreamily. "Are you feeling any better?"
I nodded. "I feel better than I did three weeks ago, that's for sure. I'm a bit sore but other than that I'm okay."
"Good," she said. "I want you to feel one hundred percent better so you can be ready for what's coming to you."
"Yeah, that makes-" I frowned, confused. "Did you say 'what's coming to me'?"
Val nodded with an innocent smile. "Yes I did, because you still haven't told me what happened." Then out of no where she grabbed me by the arm and dragged me to the bed. Throwing my onto the bed, she climbed on top of me and pinned me by my arms and legs.
"What're you doing?" I questioned warily.
"I'm waiting for you to tell me what happened." She retorted.
What has gotten into her?
I grabbed her arms and rolled over, pinning her to the bed. "I told you I was on a solo mission. That's something you'd expect when you take on a mission like that."
