"You drift away then you disappear."

"Hey," Michael played with the strap of his bag as I met him in the hallway at school the next day. He had a red snapback over his freshly dyed dark hair. He wore a black hoodie over his Slipknot shirt, the hood was down at the moment but I had no doubt that he'd pull it up sometime throughout the day.

"Hey," I replied, copying his words as I was over thinking too much to choose my words better.
I was dreading walking to his locker, his locker no doubt had the words still on it - probably because our school's cleaner never did his job very well. The music room had to put up with the smell of sick for months because the cleaner never saw that it was just behind the piano.

"I don't think Luke did it." I stated, we kept walking ahead - ignoring the people that whispered and pointed at Michael as we passed them.

Michael kept his head down but his voice was clear and strong. "What makes you think he didn't?"

I was a little anxious to say what had happened but I had to tell him everything and be truthful. That's how our friendship worked. "I blackmailed him into telling me the truth."

"With what?"

"A kiss."

"Oh."

We walked in silence for a moment, I was glad I told him, but I don't like what I did.

Michael looked over at me, his green eyes glimmering in the artificial light. "You know he could've lied and you still would've had to kiss him." Michael scoffed.

I playfully pushed him away from me, "I know that Mikey, I didn't think it through that well. I just hoped he did tell the truth.."

"Luke is a good guy, he probably is telling the truth." Michael said in a low voice. I was a little shocked when Michael slipped his hand into mine. But then I saw why.

His locker was worse than yesterday - the pictures had been laminated with the words written in big letters over top. When approaching the locker I couldn't pull the pictures off. Stupid shíts, glued it down.
Michael placed a hand over mine, stopping me from attempting to pull them down.

"It's alright Ashlee, I can handle it. They're just assholes that's all." Michael was putting on a brave face through this, I could tell this was hard for him from the way his eyes were flickering around the place constantly.

"Mikey," I sighed placing a hand on his cheek. I ran the pad of my thumb across it, softly caressing his smooth, pale skin.

He seemed to move into my touch, pressing his face into my hand as he held it there. "Ashlee, please don't leave me."

I glanced up at him, his eyes were watering slightly, "I won't. I'm here Mikey, I'm here." I didn't understand where this sudden fear of me leaving him had come from. I didn't understand it, Michael had been in my life ever since we were children, why would I leave him now? He didn't know how much he meant to me.
He was my everything. He was my Michael.

I had my head resting in Ashlee's hand. It was a nice feeling, she was so comforting just with her presence. But as I stared into her hazel eyes I couldn't help the urge coming over me to kiss her.

I kept glancing between her lips and her mesmerizing eyes. She looked like Ashton a little, I could see her roots beginning to show through the fading pink of her hair. She was always set on being different though, because everyone always said she looked like her brother she tried everything to be different from him. She didn't need to try, personality wise she was way different from Ashton. I liked her just the way she was.
