Ashton's POV
Kat knew. Kat knew I slept with Melanie. I didn't understand why she was so mad, I slept with Melanie before me and Kat were even a thing..
With anger and anxiety running through my veins, I call up Melanie. She had to have told Kat something else that made Kat believed I cheated on her or something. This doesn't add up.
"Hello?" She answers in a cheery voice and I instantly roll my eyes.
"What did you tell Kat?" I deadpan.
"What?"
"What did you tell Kat? She thinks I cheated on her with you." I say as I continue my journey to Kat's apartment.
Melanie laughs into the phone, "I haven't spoken to your little girlfriend, Ashton."
I groan, rubbing my fingers against my eyes.
"You had to have! She thinks I cheated on you with her, she knows I slept with you but I don't think she knows when." I say into the phone, leaning my back against Kat's front door.
"Well... I don't know kid, that's your problem." Melanie says into the phone. She was no help.
I hang up without any warning and knock on Kat's door, I need to fix this. It was already bad enough I stayed out all day to drink and forgot about Kat but for Kat to find out I apparently 'cheated' was another thing.
After my constant knocks, I give up and unlock the door with my spare key. It was times like this that I was thankful that we shared house keys.
The apartment is pitch black telling me she isn't home, a sigh falls from my mouth as I check her room just in case she may be sleeping. Nope, not there.
I sit on the edge of her bed, my face in my hands. I'd just have to wait for her to come home.
-
I woke up when I heard the front door open, I quickly checked my phone for the time. 1:38am.
Where the hell was Kat at all day?
I stand up from her bed, trying to clear my head so I can get this whole situation cleared up. Just as I make it to the hallway, I freeze, eavesdropping on the conversation Kat was having with someone.
"I have soda or would you like water?" Her voice asks whoever she's with.
"I'll take water," The male voice says and my blood instantly boils. She's with Kyle.
"Here you go."
"Thanks babe." He responds and I have to practically hold myself back so I don't charge out from the hallway and pummel him.
"Uh, so how's your family? Haven't seen them in a couple years.." Kat says, clearing her throat.
"They're good, I actually told them I got back in contact with you, my mom misses you." He chuckles and I roll my eyes like the immature nine year old I am. I hated him.
"I'll have to plan a trip, huh." Kat says and I can only imagine her innocent smile. Goddammit.
"Yeah, we can go together. It'll be killing two birds with one stone." He says.
"How so?" Kat asks.
"You'll be seeing my mom and it'll be our little getaway." Kyle says and I can't help but walk out from my hiding place and into the kitchen.
