Three more days. Three more days till I'm home, in Ashton's arms - with Maxie. I could do this, no problem.
"Wanna grab dinner?" Nathan asks me as we exit the conference office, I nod, following him to our rental car.
"What do you have a taste for?" He asks, tuning the car on and driving out the parking lot.
"Doesn't matter." I respond with a shrug, taking my phone out and seeing I have messages from Ashton.
>hey baby
>i miss you
>what are you doing
>im out w the guys but its lame
I giggle at his texts and respond quickly, telling him I'm going for a dinner and that I miss him too.
I hear a chuckle beside me and turn to see Nathan peaking at my phone screen.
"Eyes on the road! Nathaniel." I chuckle playfully and he rolls his eyes at me, a playful smirk on his face.
"Only my mother calls me Nathaniel." He says and I cross my arms over my chest, staring at the side of his face.
"And me, now." He turns to me, an eyebrow raised.
"You sure about that? Katherine." He says and I internally cringe, I hated that name. One because it isn't my name and two... Well the most obvious reason.
"Too bad my legal name is Kat so..." I shrug and he groans playfully, tapping the stirring wheel.
"Fine what about..." He says thinking. "Kitty Kat?" He chuckles.
I sigh, a smile on my face. "My friend actually use to call me that back in college... It was horrible." I say scratching my neck, watching as buildings pass us outside.
"Then I'm using it." He says and I roll my eyes, a chuckle escaping my lips.
"Whatever you say, Nathaniel."

Dinner went by quickly. It wasn't bad, but its not what I'm use to.
I'm use to sitting in a restaurant for hours upon hours with Ashton. I don't know why we just sat there and talked but we did. Also time was spent mostly with Ashton usually just staring at me, purposefully making me blush. He knew what he was doing whenever he'd compliment me or bite his lip as his eyes roamed my body, he knew it had an effect on me and he enjoyed having the upper hand - and I let him. I was too much of a coward to ever try and be the dominant one, that was his job.
"Earth to Kat..." Nathan says dramatically, nudging his hand with my shoulder. "Sorry," I apologize, looking down at my hands embarrassedly, "I kind of zoned out - bit tired." I say mid yawn.
"Well thank god were on our floor huh?" Nathan says jokingly, I look at the numbers on the elevator and for a fact, we are on our floor.
"Well watcha waitin' for? Let's go." I say nudging his shoulder and walking out, I hear him laugh behind me and that makes me smile.
I'm glad I didn't have a stuck up boss, or a boss who was extremely old - I think God did good for once in my life... He didn't completely screw me over this time so for that I applaud him.

I tossed and turned in my bed, a noise in the distance - practically muffled. I stuff my face into my pillow, hoping the noise goes away. It does, thankfully but then two seconds later it goes on again causing me to groan in annoyance.
I lift my head up, squinting in the darkness to see if it was coming from Nathan's side - it wasn't. I look around still hearing the noise, it was close.
I feel movement from under the covers and quickly check under them, seeing my phone ringing. I grab it quickly, the screen too bright causing me to squint.
It rings again and i tiredly answer it, stumbling out my bed and walking to the bathroom to answer whoever keeps calling me.
"Hello?" I answer with a yawn, running a hand tiredly through my hair as I sit on the toilet seat.
I hear heavy breathing, which scares for a second, so I pull the phone away from my ear to see who exactly I'm talking to. Ashton it reads.
"Ashton?" I ask confused, my heart beat increasing in the shortness of time. He was freaking me out.
"Don't be scared Kat, but somethings happened." He says breathing heavily, his voice deep and slow. How could I not be scared?
"Ashton, whats going on?" I ask, my fingernails instantly begin to be chewed on. What could have possibly happened?
It's silent for several minutes before he responds, "I got in a car accident."
