My heart was beating erotically in my chest, my brain swirling with the worse case scenario. Ashton was in a car accident.
"Baby, Kat, whatever you do don't freak out." He says slowly although his voice sounds like he's in pain, how can I not freak out?
"H-How can I not freak out? Are you okay? What happened?" I ask frantically, tears in my eyes as I pace the hotel bathroom, my hand running through my bed head.
"Baby, calm down. Please." He says in a whisper, I hear him groan and I can't help but begin to cry.
Who knows how bad it was and I couldn't do anything about it.
"Ashton are you hurt?" I ask, when he doesn't answer, I repeat the question with more authority.
"I don't think it's that ba-"
"Have you called the police? Where are you?" I ask like a frantic mother.
"I called them they should be on their way... And I'm in the car still..." He says almost shamefully.
"What hurts?" I whimper too scared to know the answer.
"It's not that ba-"
"What hurts." I say with gritted teeth, tears falling freely.
"M-My legs... They hurt. And my stomach..." He says and I can just picture him sitting in the driver seat, squished, blood everywhere. I hope my mind is just exaggerating this.
"Is there blood?" I ask quietly. Please not let there be gushing blood.
"A little..." He says and I close my eyes, trying to stop the tears.
"Baby, it's okay... I'm fine." He says weakly and I shake my head.
"If you were fine you wouldn't have called me." I say confidently. He wouldn't have, if he was seriously injured he'd be scared and call me.
"N-No I'm not."
"Ashton yes you are, your scared and that's okay. But right now I need you to tell me how bad it is." I say through tears.
I hear sirens in the background, thank god.
"I have to go Kat. I love you." Ashton dismisses me. I don't want to get off the phone but I know he has to cooperate with the EMT's.
"Call me back when you know more." I say and I began to hear other voices nearing Ashton.
"I love you." He says again which only makes this situation more serious.
"I love you too." I mumble as he hangs up.

I couldn't go back to sleep and Ashton hadn't called me back - it's been four hours.
I couldn't stand lying in my bed so I had left, roaming the lobby of the hotel. I didn't know they had complementary breakfast but it did so I didn't waste any time grabbing myself a bowl of fruit and toast, sitting on a canopy chair by the pool.
The sun had nearly risen and I couldn't really concentrate on anything but what Ashton was up to. I needed to know and be there for him.
"Kat?" Nathan's voice says from behind me, startling me in the process.
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you, was just wonderin where you ran off to." Nathan says taking a seat next to me. I nod, shifting my eyes to my dark phone screen.
A call or a text, something - I needed something.
"Everything alright?" Nathan asks, I lift my head up, looking at Nathan then back down to my phone.
"Yeah." I respond meekly.
My phone screen is still black which only annoys me even more.
"Expecting a call?" Nathan asks, I nod, letting out a breath. "Yeah." I reply monotonously.
Nathan makes a 'hmph' noise with his mouth as he leans back, his fingers fiddling together. He wants to know, I know it.
"What time is our first interview at?" I ask him, turning to look at the side of his face. He shrugs, looking at his wrist watch. "Two hours."
