Ashton's POV
I sat tiredly on Kat's couch, my legs perched on her coffee table as she brought me food she made, I believe it was some type of chowder.
She puts the hot bowl down, bending infront of me unintentionally. I can't help but cop a feel, she jumps at the touch, her face red when she turns to me.
"Hands to yourself, Irwin." She says, sitting down next to me. I chuckle, putting an arm around her shoulder, "I know no such thing."
She rolls her eyes playfully, grabbing the bowl of hot food. She blows on it, stirring the chowder like food with the spoon.
"Here, eat this." She says holding the spoon close to my mouth. I chuckle, a smirk on my lips.
"You know I can operate my arms perfectly fine right?" I say, nonetheless, opening my mouth for her to put the spoon in.
She rolls her eyes again, leaning against the couch. "This is for when I fractured my ribs and you babied me more than necessary." She says as I chew.
It didn't bother me that she was smothering me, I very much enjoyed it. I just didn't want her to think I was ever faking it.
"That's good." I comment on the food, she hums in response, taking a spoonful for herself.
"I'm such a great cook huh?" She says in joking tone and I chuckle. "You are a good cook... Not as good as me." I mumble jokingly, "but your a good cook."
She shrugs, sticking another spoonful into her mouth. "Touché."

"Okay, let's try this again." Kat mumbles mostly to herself, her arms wrapped around my torso, she was currently trying to help me off the couch - it was a bit of a struggle.
"Babe, your so heavy." She says through a breathe as she struggles to pull me up, I'm trying to push my self up as well but with my legs being in casts all the way up to my thigh, it was a bit hard.
"One more time." I encourage her, she nods, her head lightly on my chest as she pulls me up from the couch, I wobble as I stand up , my arms wrapping around Kat for support.
"Finally." She says looking up at me. I smile at her, pecking her slightly sweaty forehead.
"Great job babe, but now I need to go to my wheelchair and then to your bedroom." I say and she sighs again. I felt bad that I was so badly injured and Kat had to do everything but I suppose that's just how life plays out.
If we can survive this, we can definitely survive anything else, I thought to myself.
We had made it to Kat's bedroom fairly quickly since I had a wheel chair, except Kat would have to go through the same process of lifting me onto the bed.
"Y'know... I was thinking that maybe I should call my mom and have her come down... She can help with me so you don't have to do everything." I tell Kat, watching as she tiredly moves a piece of hair out her face.
"It's fine Ash, plus how old is your mom again? Would you really want her to struggle and possibly hurt herself?" Kat asks climbing in bed next to me.
"Well I don't want you getting hurt." I say lifting my arm and bringing it around Kat's shoulders, her head lying in the crook of my neck.
"It's fine, baby, it's fine." Kat says through a yawn and I can't help but catch the pet name. It's rare when Kat calls me anything other than my name so when she does use a pet name not only does it throw me off guard, it causes me to blush like a 12 year old girl.
"Maybe once I'm at my place I can have one of the boys stay over and help me." I speak out loud, really just airing my thoughts.
"Have you told your job? You just started - do you have time off?" Kat asks as if she suddenly remembers, she lifts her head, her tone worried and frantic.
"I told them, they said as long as I'm back within two and a half months - the jobs still mine." I say with a grin, pecking Kat's slightly ajar lips.
She lets out a breath through her nose, laying her head back down on my shoulder.
"I need to go get Maxie tomorrow." Kat says mainly to herself.
I close my eyes once the room falls into silence, Kat's slow breathing causing me to fall into a slumber fairly quickly.
