I don't want to look like I have overdressed so I decide to wear something casual. I wear white jeans and a black silk loose singlet shirt with black lace up the top of it. I still want to look classy. I throw on a black cardigan just so it makes it look a little more casual. I grab my plain black GUCCI bag and throw my light blue long sleeved button up Ralph Lauren shirt in my bag incase I get uncomfortable or if I spill anything on my shirt. I decide to just put a light coat of power on my face and fill in my eyebrows so they still look neat but messy at the same time. I quickly put on a little bit of mascara and run downstairs to see my mum waiting for me.
"Hi mum, are you ready to go?" I ask.
"Yes sure, now what's the address again?" she replies. I tell her the street name a block away from his house and we get in our black range rover and start driving.
"So where did you meet this girl again?" she asks
"Um, she is a new girl and she is in my biology class. I feel sorry for her coming to a new school when it's the last year of school, she doesn't have many friends so I wanted to be nice to her" I lie.
"Well that's lovely that you're making an effort to be friends with her, you are such a good girl," she says. I don't feel like a good girl, I'm constantly lying all the time, I'm even lying to my best friend which I tell everything too. This has been such a crazy year already and its only February!
"Yeah, I guess so" is all I can think of to say.
We drive for about 35 minutes before we finally reach the destination.
"So what time should I pick you up?" she asks.
"Maybe a couple of hours, I'm not too sure yet but I will text you and I will meet you here" I say.
"Okay, just let me know, but don't be too late okay, I don't want to have to be worrying about you, not that your like that at all because I trust you but just don't get into any trouble"
"Mum, you know me. I won't, see you soon" I say and shut the car door and she drives away. I get the GPS out on my phone and start to follow the directions to his house. I am really nervous to see him at his house. I hope everything goes okay and nobody finds out because I really like him. I walk for about 5 minutes until I get his street. He was right, his street really is isolated. There are only a couple of houses in the street and all of them are really nice. There are a lot of blocks of land that need to be built on so maybe in a few years this street will get a lot busier. All the houses are nice and modern and there are two apartment buildings.
'Your destination is 4 meters ahead' Siri tells me. I walk a few more steps to see a large apartment building. Its 6 stories high but there are only a few lights on in the building. Strange. Maybe this area has just been rebuilt so there are brand new apartments. After all there is a big for sale sign out the front of the building. I walk into the building to see an empty desk and an elevator. It is a really nice lobby. Massive white carpets with glass tables and white lounge chairs. It looks expensive. I look to the right corner to see a door with a big sign saying 'STAIRS' on it. I would take the elevator but I don't want anyone to see him and me together and since I cant go in the elevator without a key, I will have to take the stairs. I read through his text once more to see what level his apartment is on. Unfortunately, I read 'my apartment is on the 6th floor and its number 603, cant wait to see you x'. Dammit, now I have to walk up 6 flights of stairs. This is going to take ages. I take a deep breath and start slowly walking up the stairs.
---
It was a long hike but I finally reached the 6th floor. I feel small buds of moisture on my forehead so I quickly wipe them off with the sleeve of my cardigan and walk down the corridor. I walk past 601 and the nerves in my stomach begin to return. I hope it's not awkward when he answers the door, and I wonder what he will be wearing, and what his apartment will look like.
