Chapter 26

Its Saturday morning and I am woken by the heavy sound of thunder and lightning. I sit up and see a grey sky full of rain. I love days like this. It makes me feel comfy and it's an excuse to just stay in bed all day. As the rain continues to fall, I think about my amazing night with my new amazing boyfriend. Wait, is he even my boyfriend? I don't know how to explain what we have. I'm not sure if he even wants a relationship, maybe he just wants a thing. But he isn't like that; he doesn't seem like the person to do that. He seemed really into his last girlfriend and I hope he is over her. His words from last night replay over my head; "You are really beautiful", and it reassures me that I think he really does like me. But I just wish we could be like a normal couple and go out to coffee or walk in the park.

I check my phone to see the time, its 9:13am. When I look at my screen I see a text from Luke from 1 hour ago. I smile immediately.

'Hey beautiful, I had a really good time with you last night. Did you sleep well? x' He is so cute! And he is so mature. I love how he thinks of the smallest things and asks how I am, I want someone like that. I really really like him; I'm developing really strong feelings for him. I don't want to develop too many incase something happens because what we are doing is very risky; he could get fired if anyone finds out.

I decide to text back with something simple, I don't want to overthink it; otherwise I will probably say something stupid. 'Hey, yeah I loved your company last night! I slept really well thanks, how did you sleep? xo'.

I put on my pink fluffy dressing gown and put my phone in my pocket incase he replies and I head downstairs. I see my mum making pancakes for breakfast. Yum, that's just what I feel like. "Hi sweetheart, how did you sleep?" she says happily, she seems to always be in a good mood and I'm happy for her, she deserves someone new in her life. Jade is helping my mum in the kitchen.

"I slept really well thanks, how did you sleep?" I ask.

"I slept really well, apart from when little miss Jade came into my room" she says sarcastically and looks at Jade and laughs.

"The storm scarred me," Jade says, embarrsed.

"Jade, you can always come into my room if you get scarred," I tell her.

"Thank you Macey" she says and smiles at me whilst continuing to put the chocolate chips into the pancakes. She is so adorable.

"So what are the plans for today?" I ask everyone in the room.

"Well I was going to see a movie with a friend today" mum says and looks at me gesturing that her friend is Skylar's dad.

"Yeah sure, that's fine," I say and smile at her gesturing that its okay if she goes.

"Well, if its okay with you mum, would I be able to go to my friends house today for a sleepover, we are going to have a high school musical marathon!" Jade says. She is so adorable.

"Yes that's fine, I will drop you over when I leave." Mum replies. "So what were your plans for the day?" she asks as she flips the pancake, it smells so good.

"I was just thinking of having a quiet day at the house, maybe watch some movies or something like that because its all stormy" I say.

"That sounds nice, well I am leaving around 12 so I will take you over then, is that alright jade?" she asks jade.

"Yeah that's perfect!"

I sit down at the bench and check my phone, still no reply. I have an, maybe Luke can come over and we can hang out, I love his company. I decide to give him one more text to suggest my plan for the day. 'Hey, my mum and sister are going to be out of the house around 12ish, did you wanna come over while there gone?' And I hit send.

The pancakes were delicious; I had banana and strawberries on mine with ice cream and maple syrup. Yum. The rain is still pelting down. Jade heads upstairs and its just me and mum sitting at the table now.

"Thanks for breakfast mum, it was so good"

"Your welcome" she says and swallows her last bit of the pancake. "So is it alright if I go out after the movie and maybe grab a coffee or something, I will probably be back around 4:30 or something, will you be okay here by yourself?" she adds.

"Yeah that's fine, take as long as you want. Did you want me to help you get ready?"

"Haha, yeah sure, that would be nice."

"Great, well just let me know when your ready and we will start preparing," I say.

"Alright" she says and I get up and go upstairs. I check my phone again and still see no reply, I hope everything is okay, its been an hour and a half since I texted him. I go upstairs and start to clean my room so its not messy incase he comes over. I put on some music and start to pick up all the clothes off my floor and fold them to put away. I love having a neat room, it is so satisfying. I make my bed and vacuum my floor. I hate the smell the vacuum gives off so I decide to light my favorite candle, fig and cassis. The smell spreads through the room and I lay on my bed with satisfaction of my clean room. I turn the lights off and put on my fairy lights so my room suits the colour of outside. When I check the time its 11:30. Time has passed so quickly so I check my phone again to see no reply. I wonder what's going on? As I throw my phone on my bed I hear a ding and a buzz notifying me that I have received a text. I quickly jump back onto my bed to read what the message said and it is from Luke. 'Hey, sorry I haven't replied, I have been at the gym. Yeah I would love to come over, I will be there around 12:30, is that okay? See you soon, and what's your address?' Finally! Wow he goes to the gym; I wonder what his muscles look like without all that sleeve over the top. I start to fantasize when I realize I have to reply back with my address and that he needs to drive into the garage so nobody sees who I have over. Once I hit send I quickly run up to my mum's room to see her trying to decide what to wear on her date. "Mum, did you need some help?" I ask.

"Yes please, gosh where is Skylar when you need her, she is an expert when it comes to fashion."

"Yeah, I know right!"

Her two choices were hideously ugly so I walk into her wardrobe and pick out a pair of denim jeans and a blue shirt with a black throw. It looks stylish yet casual. Perfect for a movie date. I start to do her makeup. I want to do nude colors so it doesn't look like she is trying too hard to impress him, she should be past that stage now. I tell her to put her hair down because her hair is black and really wavy. It isn't that long, it's only just below the shoulders but it suits her for her age. She looks really good. She starts to head downstairs and her and Jade go in the car and I wave them a goodbye. I shut the door and lock it and turn around to see that the kitchen is a mess. I decide to make it a bit cleaner so I wipe down the benches and put all the dishes in the dishwasher. Its 12:15 and he will be soon so I decide to run upstairs and put on something to wear. I put on my long black exercise pants. They are cotton so they are quite comfortable. I usually wear them as house clothes rather than exercise pants. I throw on a white strapless shirt and put my hair up in a high ponytail. I put a little bit of bronzer on my cheekbones and they look really defined. I fill in my eyebrows again, keeping them as natural as possible and I put on some light mascara. I head downstairs and sit in the lounge room when I receive a text from him saying, ill be there in 5. I'm so nervous for him to see my house; I don't want him to think I'm a rich snobby person. But I'm mostly nervous to see him because I really like him.
