Smelling the fresh warm breeze of the island was refreshing, almost, to me after what happened with Sister Rebecca. I may have been too hard on her but maybe now she may leave me alone. "Always right my butt." I hissed walking to the water.
In every step I took my feet started to sink into the sand. Looking out in the water I tried not to think about it. About her. Sometimes in a blink of an eye I would see her in the water. Waist deep in the water she would just stand there with her back towards me. Looking out in the horizon.
All I could do was watch her. She couldn't hear me, or see me. And the things I wished I could to say to her I couldn't. Like now at this moment she has appeared before me, waist deep in the water. Biting me lip, I cursed myself. Why was she doing this to me? I want to tell her but I can't. The first few times I called out to her. I told her who I was but she never turned around. Never said a word.
Turning away from her, I couldn't see her disappear like she always did. I couldn't, it was painful, always was.
Slowly walking away with my head down. It was best this dream, I thought.
"Edea?"
Stopping in my tracks, I froze. Did... did she say my name? She couldn't have. "Dawn?" I said taking a step towards her.
I watched her slowly turn towards me. "Edea" she smiled. I returned a smile back to her. Slowly her smile became a frown making me stop in my tracks. "He's coming." Confused I was about to say something but I didn't. "You must stop him. They must not wake."
"What?" The moment I blinked she was gone. Sighing in disappointment I looked at the sky. Holding the tears from killing me I took a deep breath. I was filled with over joy that she knew who I was. That she turned around and looked at me with a smile.
Smiling to myself, I shook my head to get serious. "Who am I stopping." I asked myself.
"Good morning, chief" Officer Michael shouted.
Like always the chief didn't say anything and had gone to his office. As for me, I throw my pillow at the computer chair. "Shut up Michael" I hissed throwing my right arm over my eyes.
"So, Victor. What's Italy like? Is it beautiful?" I heard Officer Miller giggle. Dear Lord, please make her stop. Give her a chastity belt or something. I should write Santa a letter about that but knowing her she would do him too.
"I would say so, yes" Victor Wolff said. His voice was strong but almost nervous like. Picking myself up I looked at TV 2 that was on top of TV 5, between TV 1 and 3.
"Have you been to Paris?" Officer Miller asked as she placed her butt at the end of his desk.
"No but I was going to go with my sister."
"Oh really. Why not now, it's the perfect time to go" her words became a blur for me. She was so fast.
"She's missing" he said strongly almost deadly.
"I'm sorry. How long?" She said getting closer.
"Seven years." I slowly crowed over to the end of the bed as I tilted my head to the TV.
"Are there any leads?" Officer Michael walked over to Victor's desk.
"No. It's a cold case." He said adjusting myself in his chair. "So" he said changing the subject. "Who's this Runaway." He said picking up a newspaper. The title said, 'Where's the Runaway and Who is He?'
"His a shadow" Miller said.
"A ghost more like it." Michael walked over to his desk to sit.
"How come we have a cold case on him?" Victor leaned into his chair.
"Like I said his a ghost. He solves all our cases that we can't solve. Remember the case where that guy was biting his victims and drank them dry." He pointed at Miller.
"Yea. He solves all the cases that are so supernatural like. Like the show" she laughed. But Victor wasn't laughing.
"Not to mention his a total hacker. We have tried to track him down but there was no way. His to good." Michael said.
"Didn't we almost get him?" Miller asked.
"Yea once like ten years ago."
"So you just stopped." It was not a question. Victor became really pissed off.
Quickly I got up and sat on my computer chair. I typed on my computer and hacked into Victor's computer. Smiling, I was in. Once I heard a Bing sound I knew it was coming from TV 2.
"Runaway." Miller said. "Talking about me are we?" all three of them started to look at each other and then started to look around.
Victor started typing. 'How did you know?'
I smiled. I can play a little. 'I can see and hear you.'
'Where are you?' Victor nodded his head once and Miller started to check computers and Michael was on his computer, trying to track me maybe.
'Not in there. Unless you want me too.'
'Are you outside?'
'No much farther away. But I can be there in seconds. Do you wish to see me... Victor.' Something in me was screaming at me to keep going. Just looking at him in his black dress shirt and pants made me what to tease him. I don't know why but I wanted to be close. I waited for what seemed like forever. My heart was beating so fast I felt like I need to go to the hospital.
I watched him type but he hesitated to click enter.
'Yes'
I felt like I had a devilish smile. 'Keep your eye on Officer Miller' enter.
Leaning into my chair I let my head fall back. Taking a deep breath I felt myself leave my body as I concentrated on finding Officer Miller's body. I never traveled his far from a body before and the more I was ending her the more I felt like I was ripping apart. I was too far away. I was unsure if I could make it to her until I saw the police station. Rushing into the building I found Officer Miller and dived into her before I ended up back into my body.
Once in her body the body fell on the floor. Immediately I started coughing. Taking deep breaths as if my life depended on it. To everyone watching it may have looked like I was choking or something. Someone helped me up as I continued take deep breaths. "I'm alright" I quickly said.
"Sal, are you sure?" someone asked.
"Yeah." I replayed getting up on my feet. Once on my feet I adjusted my clothes. This body was so uncomfortable and strangely horny it was not funny. I gave myself a little smile before turning around to go to Victor's desk.
Victor got up off his chair and stood there. "Are you alright Officer Miller?"
The smile on my face had gone from ear to ear, shaking my head from side to side slowly. "It's not Officer Miller." I whispered, trying to be cool and sexy at the same time after my little episode. Taking his tie I pulled him close so my lips were right on his ear as I whispered "It's the Runaway."
