Chapter 27

As embarrassed as we were, it was awakening. She stood by the bed keeping her head down from letting me see her tearful face. Maybe it was a good thing she had her head down. My ears were burning, and I could feel my cheeks burn too. I never really ever got thanked for something.

"Um... well... how long have I been asleep?" I asked braking the silence between us.

"Almost a day," she said with a hiccup.

I nodded my head until it hit me. And it hit me hard, "What! A day!?" I yelled. River lifted her head back and took a step back. "That can't be!" What was I going to do? They were coming and... god damn it Beth! Throwing off the blanket and swing my legs to the edge of the bed River had put up her hands to stop me.

"Wait," she cried.

"We need to get out of here!" I yelled trying to get up but I felt weak. "Your mother is in danger! Damn it..." I hissed. "I thought I was healed."

"You are, but the pain with still be there," she looking behind her as if she was thinking when everyone will get back.

"River you need to hear me out." I said getting her attention. "Melantha is coming. She used Beth to stop me from telling and at any moment they could be here." She looked behind her again. "Do you understand?"

"I'm talking to Aunt Ray Ray. They are coming now." She said pushing me bad on the bed. "Stay," she order pointing a finger at me.

This little... "How are you talking to her?"

"We lycans can link to reach other. Don't worry you'll learn how to do it too."

"What?" I asked glaring at her.

"Aunt Ray Ray should be the one to tell you."

"It's too late for that, spill." Shaking her head from side to side she made a face. "Tell me!" I yelled.

"You're a like me!" she screamed. My eye grow, mouth dropped, and all the blood through my race disappeared. "Your... being a lycan... like me..." she whispered.

This can't be happening. I felt the room spin as I looked up at the ceiling. Taking deep breaths, it's only been a few days. Only a few fucken days are you fucken kidding me. This is happening to fast.

Son on a bitch.

"Edea!" Dawn yelled burst through the door and running to my side. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, we have to leave. Crevan is coming."

"Rachelle," Dawn said in an unfamiliar tone that I never heard.

Rachelle nodded her head and then said "I have contacted every one of my tribe to find and notify everyone out and head to the underground passageway."

"What about Connor and Victor," she said.

"I will stay behind," Rachelle looked at River and said, "You know the way?" River looked serious as she nods her head. "Take them there." River nodded once more. "Good. I leave them to you."

"You're not going to follow," I said.

"No I have to make sure that Master and Lady Marika get out okay."

"But-"I tried to say.

"That's fine Rachelle. Go we will be okay." Dawn said over me. Rachelle nodded her head and rushed out. Dawn then looked at us and smiled. "We should go."

We slowly made our way down the hall towards the greenhouse. Shaking my head I had no idea where we were going. All I knew was the one hallway that took us to another hall and down that hallway to the green house.

I was dead weight being helped by Dawn and River. I was lipping, my shoulder still hurt and I need some rest. We didn't even get to the stair case yet and I hated the idea of walking down them.

"How much further," I hissed in pain.

"We're not even half way." River respond.

I groaned as I moved a little faster. I will be damned if Melantha and Crevan gets a hold of us. Boom! I spoke to soon, I thought as the ground shook making me fall. Hitting my knee I tightened my teeth and moaned.

"Their here," Dawn gasped. She helped me up, "We have to move faster. Edea, you have to suck it up and move."

"Easier said than done," I muttered under my breath moving at a paste to her liking. As much as I pushed my body I couldn't help but bite my tongue and hoped to die.

Finally we were close to the stair case. I started to slow down as Dawn let me lean on a wall as she checked if the stairs were cleared. Once she saw it was clear she walked about to us, "Its clear." She smiled but it all faded away. It happened so quick that I didn't know how it happened. The ceiling above us started to crack and fall. I rolled the opposite direction of were the ceiling was falling as Dawn grabbed River and pulled the other way.

"Ah... shite," I whispered in pain. Slowly picking myself up to lean on the wall, my arm had been cut.

"Edea!" I heard Dawn yell.

"I'm fine!" I yelled. "You go on without me, I'll caught up."

"But-"

"Just go!" I screamed. I pulled my shaky body up and found a small gap between the rubble. "I'm fine," I said when I saw her face. "I will be there just go. You need to take care of River and the unborn twins."

"Arden and Lucas," she said, "That's their names," she smiled.

"Their nice names," I smiled back. "Now go." She nodded her head took Rivers hand and rushed to the stairs. But before they disappeared I say the fear in Rivers eyes. Was she worried about me? I guess we did make a bond a little while back. I chuckled at the thought and turned around. Looking down the hallway I took a deep breath. This is going to suck.

Olivia was the most picked out name but I had already picked it out for another character way back. So the girls name will be Arden by @ashypop12304 .

Also I will put up chapter 28 later in this week. I didn't have time to finish it. It was to go to be part of  this chapter but I wanted to cut into two parts.
