Chapter 28

"Okay, okay... I can do this," I whispered in pain. "Just one step after the other... ah... shit," I cursed. Getting to the last step on the stairs I succeeded. Through all the pain and hard work I would like to that my sister, River, and want to take... ow.

I have no time for this, I thought. No matter how happy I am right now. I still have a long way. You know, I should have asked River where this passageway was. Well crap, I'm going to have to look for no matter what. Maybe it will be like the movies, I'll find it without a problem and I'll be safe with Dawn and River and... there is no way in hell. With my luck I would be thrown off a cliff or something.

Taking a deep breath I pushed myself forward down the hall towards the greenhouse. Oddly this mansion has been quite. Here and there I would loud booming sounds as if something was braking walls down. I could smell burning wood but didn't see any. Well the place is pretty big. They may have not gotten to this part of the building.

Maybe, just maybe I can get lucky and get away without being found out.

"Edeeaaa!" closing my eyes shut I felt like a cartoon character who just got caught. I shook my head thinking maybe that singing voice was nothing but my imagination. That all this ache and pain have given me a fever and I was just thinking things. Frozen, I waited to hear the voice again. "Aren't you going to welcome me home," the sound of her giggling voice made me shiver.

Nope. I didn't hear a thing. I limped down the hall as fast as I could but as lucky had it some invisible thing had picked me up. I was floating, going out of control by going upside down, moving from right to left and I just gave up. This thing made me move towards Melantha. "Come on. What did I do?" I whined to her as I was forced to turn around.

Melantha wasn't alone. By her side was four people I never meet but they looked almost like Olivia. Were these people Crevan's other children. "You pissed me off," she smirked placing her hand on a girls shoulder. She was the smallest out of the four. Long brown hair, green eyes, high cheek bones. I have to admit. Crevan made some beautiful children.

"Who your new friends?" I asked forcing a smile on my face.

"I'm glad you asked. This is Helena," she said patting the girls shoulder. She then walked over to the one. He was very tall, maybe seven foot, which may be a lie, bodybuilder. His eyes were brown and hair a mixed of brown and blond hair. "Lennox," Melantha smiled. Once she said his name he punched the wall next to him making a hole. Shit. "And these two are Edwin and Elizabeth, the twins."

The Edwin lifted his left hand as Elizabeth lift her right. Inside their hand a water ball was formed in the boys hand and a fire ball in the girls. Holy shit. So Helena can move things with her mind or something? Can she hear my thoughts? Glaring at Helena, she smirked. Holy shit! I'm a dead man, I cried a little inside.

"You know," I said bravely but stupidly, "you're always catching me at a bad time. If you could, I have to get going."

"You're just like your sister," she smirked. "Where is she by the way? I heard she was expecting. I wanted to congratulate her."

Something came over me and I spitted on her face, "like hell if I would tell." I don't know where she is but if I did I wouldn't tell. Melantha flinched when the spit hit her right eye. Whipping it away, Helena tilted her head left, making my body follow I was smacked into the wall. "Ah!" my body shiver at the pain as I took deep breaths. "W..." I whispered.

"What was that," the bitch said.

"Why... do... you want... to kill... my sister so much?" I asked.

"I don't want to kill her. I want to torture her," she giggled. "You see, she's not my pray but Crevan's. But everyone else, is fair game."
