To explain what happened between Edea and Victor

At the end of the book Edea gave up her stubbornness and dated Victor at the end because she didn't want to run and all this time she was running away from the future and still holding on to the past of her and just Dawn. If you really think about it Edea complaining wasn't really about Dawn and Connor it was that things were changing and she didn't like that not to mention everyone was vampire so it was very hard for her. But she realizes that this was her family and if she ran away she would lose her sister and her lover. So in this story you really had to read between the line and be the character to understand that the picture is never what it seems.

Another way I explained it to someone

As for Edea and Victor's relationship, Edea is not good at expressing herself so she does give you mix feeling as to what she really thinks about Victor. But Edea is a very difficult character to understand and you have to really be her to understand but here and there she fights the whole love thing. So her fighting with victor is like her norm. Does she love him yes. In the end, it kind of comes together I think, but Edea always wanted a family and it was always just her and her sister. She didn't want to expand because it was hard. She wasn't use to having other family but just her sister so she fought with herself to stay in the past with the idea of just her and her sister. So you can say she was running away from expanding her love towards other characters in the book. Like in the end were Edea and River were able to make a bond. But in the end Edea didn't want to lose her family that she already have. She just didn't know it yet. The second to late chapter Edea gives in to Victor and starts their relationship there. This was my way of her excepting her new family, expanding it to just more then her and her sister.
