Closing my eye I slipped out of my body. In my ghostly form, I looked at Victor for a moment as I pushed my body into the wall.
My blood should hold him until I can find a body to possess. Once I was through the wall I found myself in the hallway and I wasn't alone. Grinding my teeth, I watched River and Dawn being dragged up the stairs by none other than the famous Melantha. Placing my hands to my side I flew towards them. As if I was a mermaid underwater. I moved swiftly towards them letting my body into a sitting up position as if I was lying down.
Looking at them. River had a black collar around her neck that was connect to a chain. But it looked like it wasn't enough. Because there was chains wrapped around her little wrists. I could smell the girls burning flesh in the air. I felt my blood boil. Who would do this to a child? Oh, right, a monster.
"Mel," in a low growling tone, Dawn pulled on her chains as her fangs pierced through her gums. "Let River go. It's me you want."
"Oh, Dawn," Melantha smiled and pulled on the chains. "I can't let your Lycan live. Besides, I want to watch you suffer as you watch you Lycan child slowly and painful died," she laughed.
Oh, she was sick to the bone and more. With a shiver of disgust I stood in front of Melantha. I have to process her, get them out, and end all this bullshit. Holding my breath, I closed my eyes to let myself into her body.
Huh?
When I opened my eyes to see that I never traveled into Melantha's body. What? Turning around I ran up to her and leaped. But I never went into her body. All I did was fall on my knees. Are you kidding me? Was it because she was a vampire? Because she's half dead? I guess you really do learn something new every day.
Getting up on my feet I started to go through the walls, trying to find a body to use. There has to be someone that's not in a cage AND alive.
Every room, every hall looked the same to me and this made me so furious that I wanted to scream. Moving into another room it was a little different than the rest that I have seen. It was dark, smelled like blood and there was life. Hearing the sound of a cough. I turned towards the person and my mouth dropped, eyes widen, and I felt all the oxygen in my body leave my lungs.
As time stopped it felt like forever until I was able to breath again. Across the room, with candles around the body chained to the wall. I started crying as I weakly walked over to him. With my hand out like a child. My eyes traveled up and down his body. Covered in scares, blood, bruises, and dirt. I felt my bottom lip tremble.
"Dad?"
My fingertips were just inches away from his cheek when I felt my heart squeeze in pain. Something was happening to my body. My ghostly form was being pulled back to my body. But I tried to force myself to stay. I had to stay. He was here. He was alive.
"No! Dad!"
