Slowly walking up to the green house doors I heard someone call my. "Edea!" turning towards the voice, behind me was River. "Why... why... did you... do that?" she asked out of breath.
"Do what," I asked while crossing my arms together.
"You know how dad is. You should apologize."
"Like hell. What everything that he put my sister through!" I almost shouted.
"It's not like he wanted to! He loves mommy and he will do anything to make it right!" she yelled squeezing her hands into fists.
I sighted, "Sure, he does, his guilty".
"It's true!" she stopped on the floor.
"Blood" What? "Feed" a voice said. It couldn't be. Dawn?
As River continued to talk I had turned away and rushed into the room, run behind the one shelf where Dawns bed layer. I stood there shocked to see that her bed was empty and a window had been broken through. Did Crevan come already? But she's not awake yet... or is she.
"Mom..." River said behind me. "Mommy!" she screamed. "What do we do?" she panicked.
"Go get your father and uncle," I said slowly. She hesitated as I screamed at her to go.
She ran out like her life deepened on it. Taking one more glance at the bed I ran to the broken window, I careful went through it. "Dawn!" I said shouting. "Daaaawwnnnn!" Walking around, I found her close to the edge of a cliff.
She didn't move, she just stood there looking out at the ocean. Just like in my dream... in the afterlife. Slowly approaching her. I could hear the water clash onto the rocks below. Making myself known I made sure my footsteps where heard. Standing just a few feet behind her she spoke, "is it just me or did this place change?"
"What do you mean?"
"This... afterlife," she whispered.
I smiled, she doesn't know, "You're a wake Dawn." We stood there in silence until I spoke again. "How do you feel?"
"...Different."
"How so?"
"My teeth hurt, my senses are better than they were, and for some reason I have a feeling that I have to protect something but I don't know what," she said placing both hands on her belly.
"What do you remember?"
"I risked myself to save Connor. And my... father killed me."
"He didn't kill you, Dawn. He changed you. ...You're a vampire." She quickly turned around and faced me. Her eyes were crimson, two small fangs poked out of her gums, and little blood spots covered her body. It may have been when she jumped out of the window.
"That can't be... that... I died!" she yelled placing a hand on her chest.
I tried to stay calm. She was a new born vampire. She could jump me and I would never know. "I know it's hard for you to understand but you must listen to me. Connor is on his way and he will explain everything to you," I said slowly.
"Connor?" I watched a tear run down her cheek and another followed. "His... okay?" she asked as she collapsed, sitting on her knees, and coving her face. "Thank god. Thank god... I was so scared." I wanted to hug her but I was afraid that if I did she would attack me, so I just stood there and let her cry.
My heart sank, this was the first time I was watching my sister cry. The one people she usually smiled when she wanted to cry most. It took all I could to hold the tears in but my vision was becoming a blur. Damn this place. I can cry twice in one day. "Dawn, let's get back to the house." She nodded her head once but didn't get up.
"Mommmmmmyyyyy!" River's screamed behind me making me jump. Her little loud footsteps hit the grass. Dawn looked up and placed a smile on her tearful face and she stretched her arms out, calling the little girl's name. Tilting my head back, I watched Connor slowly walk up to us and stop midway in awe.
"Connor," Dawns voice was shaky.
"Dawn," in like a stupid romantic movie, Dawn stood up and the two love birds ran to each other. Hugging each other once they meet in the middle. Ah! Gross, and I thought Marika and Frederick was bad. But as I watched them, I relised that I was no longer need. This was her family, not mine. A lover, children, new parents, and new friends. She was so loved here that I worried about almost nothing. Maybe Connor is right, Crevan won't be able to get her unless he had a death wish.
Adjusting my dress I headed to the house here Victor stood next to the broken window. "How are we going to fix this?"
"Duct tape. It fixes everything," I commented as I walked passed him and into the green house through the window.
"Very funny." He said doing a fake laugh.
"Take me home."
"What? Why?"
"I'm not needed here and I have work back at home," I firmly said glaring at him.
He walked through the broken window, followed me close, and took my upper arm into his large palm. Looking at him, I became cold and tried to jerk my arm away but it only made him grip harder. "I need you. Stay with me, be my life mate," he quickly said almost nervously. He was starting to really piss me off with this clingy shit that he has going on. The more I looked at him the more I saw the pink growing in his eyes. Without thinking, I kicked him between the legs. He bent down loosening his grip on my arm. Violently taking my arm back I watched him fall on his knees, putting himself in a ball almost. "You..."
"What?" I came to his level. "What did you say?"
He lifted up his face, curling his lips into a half smile but still looked to have been in pain, "If you do that again... I won't... hesitate to take you."
I tilted my head to the side and laughed, "I can file a report of your sexual harassment and attempt rape. I will put you in jail."
"I like to see you try while I have you cry out my name so all can learn it."
I left eye I twitched, "your gross," picking myself up walked out of the room looking for the that maid named Beth. I need my clothes. This dress is riding up me. I wouldn't be surprised if Victor got a good look at my fucken cheeks. Stupid ass perv.
