CHAPTER 21

"Oi! Asha!" I heard Lena's voice calling down the corridor, but I continued to stare at the wall.

Should I tell them?

They were my friends and friends told each other everything...but what if I was wrong? What if this is just like all the other invisible for things all around the school...I mean it's not really that far-fetched...

"Oi Asha we've been calling you!" I turned to see Lena dragging a slightly more composed Rose. She met my eyes and gave a sheepish grin, but I could see in her eyes that she still wasn't ready for this...

"Oh...yeah...sorry..." I mumbled, "I got...erm...carried away.." I quickly went to join them and started walking back down the corridor.

"Wait!" Lena called, "why exactly were you staring at a wall?"

I turned slowly, scared to meet her eyes.

"Oh...you know! Just...erm...thinking..." I tried to pull off a laid back smile, but I think it looked like I was being strangled.

"Oh okay..." Lena replied, frowning a bit, but accepting my explanation anyway.

We stood there in the empty corridor. Lena staring absent-mindedly at the wall, and Rose staring at the ceiling, as though praying to be anywhere other than here. I looked back at the wall. I was right not to tell them. It would just make things worse. I started to feel uncomfortable in the eerie silence.

"...so...are we going?" My words echoed around the corridor, as the two girls turned to look at me.

Lena and I made eye contact and she nodded, a defiant look in her eye. We both turned to Rose who looked slightly scared.

"You good?" I asked, wanting to make sure she still wanted to do this.

"We need the information..."she muttered "So yeah." She finished confidently.

Together, we set off down the corridor. As we passed the invisible gap in the wall, I made note of the troll head next to the burning light casket, as a symbol to remember the spot, if I were to return.

Then I pushed the issue to the back of my mind and concentrated on what was to come.

We arrived at a dark black door, which had an engraving of a serpent around the handle. I'm not sure if it was just me, but all the snakes around Hogwarts, gave off a mysterious vibe, as though they were real.

We took the time to compose ourselves, before knocking on his office door.

"Come in." A voice called- a smooth voice that seemed to belong to the stereotypical handsome prince- maybe like a Disney prince or something. Lena mimed being sick, before forcing a normal look on her face and pushing the door half open.

I think she was trying to give us some kind of motivation, because we all looked like someone had died. It worked, because Rose gave a small grin, plastering a huge fake smile on her face, as I did the same...with difficulty...I think I still looked I was being suffocated, but that's improvement, right?

At seeing our faces, Professor Scroggin smiled.

"Come in, come in! I don't bite you know!" He gave us a smirk that would've made a lot of others start fangirling over, but I was pleased to see that none of us made any obsessive move. As we got into the room, I looked over at Lena, whose eyes had gone wide for some reason. I stared at her, frowning, wondering what she was doing, looking like a lovesick puppy pining for its master. Rose looked at her too, but before either of us could speak, Lena beat us to it.
