AN: Heya, Catlee here! I'm reposting this, it isn't much different, but Aardvark and I needed to rewrite some stuff from the original, making it clearer, you know?

CHAPTER 13

"Stop dawdling again and just walk!" Dominique practically screamed at us from behind. Mechanically, I followed Lena into the red mass of colour. To sum up the Gryffindor common room in one word would be...lively...Everywhere you had people running around, chasing each other, sitting by the armchairs near the fire, talking, laughing... the complete opposite of me.

Or at least the me a couple of months ago...

"Now first yea-" Dominique started, but stopped as soon as she as she saw a figure heading up a staircase. "Oi! Oliver! You're supposed to be helping me as well! How am I supposed to cope all on my own?" She shouted with her hands on her hips.

A tall boy with a mop of dark brown hair, walked over to us. He looked slightly scared of Dominique but that didn't stop him from wearing a cheeky smile.

"Sorry ma'm! I was a little held up. Oh, but I can help now!" he added hurriedly, and carried on quickly before she could interrupt (she looked very much like she wanted to!)

"-so kids, you see those two doors? Good." We followed him to one of the doors, which he flung open. I looked through it, to see a spiralling staircase. "You boys go up these stairs. Girls through that door." He pointed, and on cue, an older pupil opened the door to go through it.

"How high are we?" One of the boys asked, seemingly uncomfortable with heights.

"Don't worry! It's not that high up." Dominique reassured with a smile, suddenly appearing next to Oliver. I blinked. She keeps doing that! Just appearing in places...

I made a mental note to ask Lena if that was some kind of magic...

"Err... actually Dominique," Oliver started" ...they're at the top... basically guys, you'll keep your dorms for your full seven years here, and when you leave in Seventh year, your room will go to the new first years. And... err.. .the seventh years last year had the room right at the top of the tower." Dominique glared at him, as there was a simultaneous groan about having to walk more.

"But still. It isn't very high, the first room is about 10 steps up, and there's only a 5 step difference between them then. So it's not high, _is it Oliver_?" A few people were still tense, and Dominique narrowed her eyes at Oliver, who merely shrugged.

"You should really get some sleep though, once you get there! So you can actually get up tomorrow, unlike me on my first day!" He gave a mischievous smile, when there was an outbreak of sniggering.

"So off you go- oh and any more problems, go to dear Dominique." He looked towards the one in question who had her mouth agape and was staring at him, obviously astonished at how he'd suddenly taken charge.

Oh if looks could kill.

"Or, you could always come to me!" He added hastily, before looking towards her and loudly whispering, "Dominique could do with it though... she should really be doing more instead of standing there like a frog!"

Not only us, but everyone who was near heard that, and started laughing, before Dominique rounded on him. Then the sound was quenched immediately.

"Well... I suggest you kids go and see your rooms." Dominique gave a tight lipped smile, before turning on Oliver. Lena grabbed my hand and we ran to the door and up the staircase (I think the other girls followed), just hearing Dominique as we left.

"YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE TURNING THE FIRST YEARS AGAINST ME, THE OLDER YEARS KNOW YOU'RE JOKING AND I CAN TAKE A JOKE, BUT WHAT THE ACTUAL MERLIN, NOW THESE FIRST YEARS ARE GOING TO THINK I DO NOTHING-" Everyone- well, but me and a girl with brown hair- was giggling at this, but I was making a quick mental note never to say anything against Dominique in front of her or people who don't know her. As we got further up and the door closed, Dominique's voice faded, and I heard Lena instead, counting the dorms.
