It was Friday morning and everything seemed so off. Alan's alarm clock that normally woke him up at seven o'clock instead woke him up at nearly eight which forced him to take a really quick, almost cold, shower. He didn't have time to dress in anything special but threw on a random sweater, pair of boxers, skinny jeans and slipped on some pair of shoes. To make matters worse, Aaron texted him saying that he couldn't pick Alan up because he had an early detention and wasn't going to be able to do anything. Alan's mother was already at work and wasn't going to be able to come and get him either.

When Alan walked out of the front door, the sky was a dark gray, meaning that at any given moment it was due to rain, he just hoped it held out long enough for him to get to school without getting rained on. No such luck was granted to him. He was only a few minutes away from school when it suddenly began to pour, soaking Alan through his clothes. His his stuck to his forehead and neck in clumps, his shoes were sloshing with water every step he took and his skinny jeans were weirdly sticking more to his legs. This is just perfect, Alan thought to himself as he walked into school. Thankfully for him, he made it just in time into the classroom when the tardy bell rang. Without a word to anyone, Alan plopped down in his seat, a slight shiver running up his spine.

"No good morning today? Usually you'd never know how to keep your mouth shut." Alan heard Austin say. He glanced at him, though. Austin had a visible sly smirk on his stupid face that Alan had the rude urge to punch. He's stupidly hot, Alan thought.

"What's the point?" Alan asked, looking at his desk. He felt that today he should be quiet, speaking too much would worsen his day. Austin didn't reply, he just watched Alan curiously for a moment before looking away.

All through class Alan kept having to push his wet hair away from his face. It was beginning to curl at the ends and had a small frizz to it. It was terrible. Alan's legs were beginning to become cold due to the air conditioner that was on, so his jeans were sticking to his legs and were catching the cool air that made him shiver badly. At one point his teeth chattered loudly and a few people looked at him but said nothing. Alan felt miserable and cold. He desperately wanted to go home and just sleep.

First period seemed to drag on forever and ever, it was still fifteen minutes until the bell rang and Alan was just ready to leave. He was almost tempted to. A knock on the door seemed to save each and every student from a miserable and most boring subject ever. It was so boring that most of them fell asleep or was close to it, Alan included. The teacher walked to the door and talked to whoever was outside before turning back to the class and looking everyone over.

"Alan Ashby, you are apparently needed in the office for something." A course of 'oohs' sounded from everyone one as Alan stood, gathering his things and leaving out of the room. Beside the door stood Aaron, a big smirk presented on his face.

"What are you doing?" Alan asked, Aaron shrugged and beckoned Alan down the hallway, allowing him to put his things up. He followed Aaron until they reached the library and took a seat in the back.

"There are specific reason I'm here?" Alan asked after a few minutes. Aaron shrugged, sitting back in his chair.

"Thought maybe it'd be fun."

"Well it's not the first time you've skipped anything."

Aaron chuckled and shrugged again. "Most certainly is not and will not be the last."

For awhile the two of them just sat in the library, talking and laughing, although they did have to keep quiet so no one heard them. Who knows how much trouble they would be in if they were caught skipping several classes, even lunch but luckily Aaron's mom packed him a small container of grapes and apple slices. Thank you Mrs. Pauley, Alan thought, eating a few apple slices to fulfill his slightly growling tummy. They tasted sweet and sour at the same time, dancing along his tastebuds. It was possibly the best thing he'd had all day, considering it was really the only thing he could eat since he was in a rush this morning.

"We should just go back to my house and chill. I mean, what's the point in sitting here if we're not even in class?" Alan questioned, wiping his hands on his jeans. Aaron shrugged and closed the lid on the containers, stuffing them into his backpack of which they came from.

"I guess, but we'd have to go through the window. If we go through the office and to the parking lot, the office workers would ask questions and you're a terrible liar and I sometimes can't think of anything on the spot."

"Geez, thanks," Alan muttered, standing up from his seat. "But I have to get a few things from my locker, I'll be back and then we can crawl through a window." Aaron chuckled and nodded, plopping back down in his seat and waiting for him. Alan walked out of the library and to his locker. His frowned and looked at the piece of clothing neatly folded and a ripped piece of paper laying on top of it. Alan reached for it, opening the note first and reading curiously.

So I saw that you were cold earlier and that your clothes were wet...figured this would be better? It may be way too big for you or whatever, I don't know, I don't wear it anymore because the sleeves are too short for me now. Here you go, you can keep it.

Alan picked up the article of clothing and watched it unfold. It was a sweatshirt and looked to be really big just as the note said, either way, Alan found himself smiling at the generous offer from whoever it came from. Without another thought, Alan walked to the bathroom and changed into the oversized sweatshirt. It may have not been like his sweaters, but it would do. The sleeves went to his fingertips and the hem reached to his thighs. Yeah, it was definitely oversized but it was so warm. Alan bit his lip and balled up his now damp sweater and walked out of the bathroom and back to the library where Aaron was waiting, humming a song to keep him occupied.

"Didn't you have a different shirt on or something?" Aaron asked as Alan came into view.

"I found this," Alan said simply, shrugging his shoulders. He walked across the library and to the big windows that gave a straight shot view to the parking lot. Aaron stood behind his best friend, watching him work at the lock at the bottom, twisting it in all different directions before it finally clicked and Alan was able to lightly push it for it to open. Wasting no time, Aaron pushed Alan into the bushes right outside the window, laughing when he a thump followed by a groan.

"Why did you do that?" Alan demanded, struggling to his feet. Aaron was crying at this point, wiping at his eyes and watching Alan.

"You move like a freaking grandma." Aaron said, crawling out of the window and landing on his feet in the bushes. He pushed closed the window and pulled Alan to his feet, laughing again when there were leaves poking from his hair.

"I wouldn't have to be moving like a grandma if you didn't push me out of the damned window!" Alan said, ruffling his hair up to rid of the leaves. Aaron shrugged and left Alan behind, going through the parking lot until he found his car. Alan got in with a huff, tossing his sweater to the backseat and running fingers through his hair. Aaron grinned and started up his car, driving away and heading to Alan's house.

The two jumped out and went inside, Aaron making himself home as he always does and Alan heading towards the laundry room where he placed his sweater in the dryer and let it dry from the rain. He went back into the living room where Aaron was sat, a soda in one hand and the remote in the other, feet propped up on the coffee table and flipping through channels on the t.v. in hopes to find something in the early afternoon. Alan settled himself down on the couch too, watching Aaron aimlessly go through cartoons until Codename: Kids Next Door was agreed upon them both. It was like they were children again.

Later in the evening Alan's mother came home, smiling both at the two teenagers and asking a bunch of questions about school like always. Of course they both up some sort of lies about what happened, making it seem like they were really there when in reality both were sat on the couch, watching cartoons, eating food and drinking sodas. Who knows how long Alan would be in trouble if his mother found out he skipped out the rest of school.

"Well I'm off to bed, night sweeties." Ms. Ashby said, climbing up the stairs and heading off to her bedroom. Tomorrow was the weekend meaning that both Aaron and Alan were able to sleep in until the afternoon and nothing could be done about it.

No clue what happened with the bottom half but there should be more interesting stuff happening, maybe...but here's an update, enjoy.
