It was one of those mornings that Alan was actually putting a little more into what he was wearing. He actually made his hair straighter and fluffier than normal, he put the sweater he was wearing for the day in the dryer to make it warm and cozy because it was chilly outside. The skinny jeans he decided to wear had rips in them on the knees, some threads dangling down, and his shoes weren't anything that special, just a pair of worn down vans. All in all, Alan thought he looked adorable. He smiled at himself through the mirror before grabbing his phone and the few books he did have, heading downstairs where his mom was about to walk out the front door but was trying to pull on her coat.
"Hey sweetie," she smiled, pushing her arm through the sleeve of the coat. Alan smiled at her, walking over and giving her a kiss on the cheek.
"Morning," he said, smiling some more and walking off into the kitchen.
"I'm off to work, bye, love you." His mom said, closing the door as she left. Alan looked through the refrigerator until he found something to drink and headed off to school. Aaron pulled up outside Alan's house, just like every morning, honking his horn and hurrying him to come along.
Alan climbed into the front seat, waving his best friend onward to school. The two of them rode to school together, singing to old song and laughing at each other until Aaron pulled into a parking spot and cut his car off. They walked into school together before going their separate ways to first period. Alan plopped down in his seat like usual after greeting the teacher, a small smile present on his face. He just felt really happy today.
Austin trudged into the classroom, rubbing at his tired eyes and willing himself to stay up long enough to get to his desk before he fell over and went to sleep. He got zero sleep last night, too busy cramming for a test that was needing to be passed or else the wrath of his dad was out to get him.
"Good morning, you seem tired." Alan said, watching as Austin slowly sat his way down into the desk and yawning every few seconds.
"Yeah, I'm tired, if that weren't clearly obvious." Austin said, rolling his eyes.
"You seem to not like my company," Alan said, smirking. Austin stared at him for a moment before grinning a little.
"I'm tired, not really in the mood for anything stupid." Austin said, leaning against his arm.
"Then why don't you go to sleep?" Alan asked softly, watching as Austin yawned once more.
"Because," Austin answered shortly.
"You can go to sleep, I promise to not bother you." Alan said, shrugging some.
"Wake me up before class is over, yeah?" Austin questioned. Alan gave a small nod, biting his lip. Austin grinned a little more, folding his arms and resting his head down, instantly falling asleep. Alan smiled and turned forward as class began, not being able to contain himself. His stomach turned happily and kept flopping with butterflies. Why? He wasn't so sure as to why exactly, but whatever the reason was, he liked it a lot.

Before the bell rang Alan did as Austin asked, woke him up. At first it was really hard because Austin kept pushing Alan's hand away and groaning and mumbling incoherent words, but after maybe the third or fourth shove Austin sat up, glaring at Alan and rubbing his eyes. Austin was obviously not a very happy person when he woke up.
"What?" Austin grumbled, yawning and rubbing his eyes more.
"Class is over." Alan said, picking up his books.
"Already?" Austin mumbled, gathering his own things. Alan hummed and nodded. "Oh."
"You're not much of a happy camper when you wake up." Alan said, watching Austin for a moment. He shrugged, slinging his backpack over his shoulder.
"Mornings just aren't my thing. Anyway, thanks for waking me up and not leaving me to sleep for the rest of the day, although I wouldn't very well mind if you did." Austin said, walking towards the door with Alan following.
"I'm sure you would." Alan mumbled, smiling. Austin chuckled and rolled his eyes, walking with Alan to their next class considering they had all the same thing.
Alan's stomach still turned with that happy feeling that he couldn't seem to get over. Austin wasn't as rude as he seemed, he was more smiley ever since that lunch that Austin sat with Alan. Austin himself wasn't as bad as Alan had thought, hopefully no tables would turn and Austin wouldn't be back to his old self, because Alan didn't like that Austin very much.
Once lunch came around, that small smile that Alan had was even bigger, his cheeks were nearly hurting but every time he kept trying to stop smiling, it came right back, it was nearly tiring. As usual, all the time, Alan sat with Aaron at lunch, listening to the dummy talk about his classes, but today Aaron noticed that his best friend was more smiley and happy than usual, which wasn't much of a bad thing, but he was curious.
"Is someone very important coming into town? Or you possibly aced a test?" Aaron questioned, Alan shrugged and grinned.
"Today hasn't been bad at all, and I'm just happy. You're putting a damper on my mood." Alan said, reaching over into Aaron's plate and grabbing a grape, throwing it at him.
"You don't have to throw my food, you dork." Aaron said, throwing it right back. Alan chuckled, his cheeks beginning to hurt once more.
"Like I said, I'm in a good mood." Alan mumbled, Aaron grinned at him.
They talked and laughed at each other, just like this morning until the bell rang for them to get to class. Aaron and Alan headed to class off all while Austin stayed back with Phil, deciding that music class wasn't all that important at the moment and went along with skipping it, heading out back to the school where they sat around until the end of the day. When the last bell rang, Austin was heading home, hearing his old man complaining about the day like normal.
Alan and Aaron ran out of the school, quickly getting into Aaron's car, rushing out of the parking lot and hurrying to Alan's house where they sat down on the couch and watched movies until Alan's mom came home, even then she joined in after cooking dinner, watching movies along with them too until she became too tired and headed off to bed, leaving the two boys in the living room who were still wide awake until the crack of dawn.
