Alan hugged the blanket tighter to his body as the warmth beside him had moved. He grumbled and curled up more into a ball, falling asleep has again until he was kicked.
"Sorry." Austin muttered, sitting up. Alan was asleep at the one end of the couch and Austin was on the other. He sat up, rubbing at his eyes. The couch wasn't the best thing but he couldn't really go home, and plus he and Alan were having lots of fun so he couldn't just abandon that.
"Why are we awake? It's too cold." Alan muttered, sitting up and wrapping the blanket around his shivering body.
"It's almost seven thirty, you boys should be getting up and ready for school." Ms. Ashby popped out from the kitchen which caused Alan to jump and quickly slap a hand over his mouth. Austin and Ms. Ashby both laughed at the boy which made Alan glare and chunk a pillow at Austin's head.
"Do I have to go to school? It's too cold and I'm still tired." Alan mumbled, running fingers through his hair as he begged his mother to not let him go, but she stared at him and simply shook her head.
"Nope, you know you can't stay home unless your sick, and even then you'd have to be really sick." She said, Alan groaned and tossed the covers aside, getting up from the couch and going upstairs. Austin chuckled and watched as Alan wandered upstairs. He fell against the couch, seeing that the t.v. was still on and playing Tom and Jerry. Austin watched the cartoon while Alan was upstairs in the shower, washing his hair and body, rinsing the soapy suds away before turning off the water and getting out, wandering across the hallway to his room to get dressed.
He pulled on a pair of boxers, skinny jeans and on slipped a black and blue sweater before pulling on his shoes and managing to fix the mess of his hair. Afterwards Alan went downstairs, seeing that Austin was no longer sitting on the couch and his mom was still in the kitchen, possibly making a cup of coffee.
"Austin's in the shower, we'll be leaving in a few." She said, knowing that Alan was in there with her. Alan sighed and sat down in a chair, signing loudly. He obviously didn't want to go to school today, it just wasn't with him at all.
After a few minutes of Alan sitting and his mom sipping coffee, Austin came downstairs with a pair of clothes that weren't his but they fit well. It was a long sleeved t-shirt with a name of some football team up the sleeve, and a pair of jeans. He stepped into the kitchen and Ms. Ashby stood up, setting her empty coffee cup in the sink and grabbing her purse, pulling on a warm coat. Alan slid out of the chair and trudged to the door, opening it and leaving out with Austin and his mom following behind.
All three of them got into the car, driving away and arriving at school in a meaningful time span. Alan's mom gave him a peck on the cheek goodbye and a wave to Austin as the two boys got out. Alan sighed as he saw the school building, really dreading of having to go in there. He didn't know why, but today just wasn't the day. He didn't want to go anywhere he just wanted to sleep, but he'd have to get over it and go inside. With another sigh, Alan began to walk but Austin grabbed a hold of his hand, making Alan stop.
"Why don't we do something else?" He suggested softly. Alan looked up at him with wide, curious eyes.
"What do you mean? My mom-"
"Won't find out and I'm sure you'd much rather be somewhere else." Austin said, cutting him off. Alan bit his lip, looking down at the ground and thought about it. That feeling that had once came once returned and it made his stomach turn.
"Where would we go?" Alan asked, looking back up at the tall boy.
Austin smirked, reaching up and pushing a strand of ginger hair from the small boys face. "You'll just have to come with me and find out, kitten." Alan rolled his eyes and gave Austin a shove. That stupid nickname. Alan was called that when he was about six or seven, his cute obsession with cats and kittens made his mom and some family members call him 'kitten'. Alan never really liked it but when Austin said it, it made his cheeks warm.
"Whatever, let's go." Alan said, Austin smiled and happily followed the small boy.

The park was cold and it wasn't that full of people. It was mostly couples and families with small children, running around and playing. Alan smiled, walking over to the playground and happily sat down in a swing, pushing himself back and forth. Austin came up behind him and gave the swing a push, laughing when he heard Alan squeal.
Alan laughed as he got higher and higher, feeling the rush of the cold wing against his cheeks as he went forward and backwards. An idea popped into his head, and he jumped, tumbling into the snowy ground with a thump. Austin was surprised and thought for a slight moment that the ginger was hurt. He quickly rushed over, sighing in relief when he heard Alan giggling loudly.
"Are you okay?" Austin asked, grinning. Alan gave a jerky nod, sitting up and shivering slightly. His cheeks were a pink color and his nose was slightly red, other than that he felt great, a big happy smile on his face.
"That was fun," Alan said, Austin chuckled and plopped down in the snow beside him. "You should do it." He added
"I think I'm good kitten, I'm not as cool as you are." Alan rolled his eyes, gathering up some snow and throwing it at Austin's face, making him sputter before pouring.
"Shut up," Alan muttered. Austin grinned and pushed him into the snow, throwing snowballs. Alan laughed, shoving the tall boy away and sitting up, brushing the coldness from his body.
"My hands are cold now," Alan mumbled, watching as Austin ran fingers through his hair. He turned and stuck his bottom lip out.
"Poor wittle baby," he said, Alan rolled his eyes, cheeks warming up as Austin grabbed his small hands, holding them between his two large ones, making them warm. Austin grinned, standing up and pulling Alan with him. "You wanna get some coffee?" He questioned.
"Are you going to push me or throw snow at me?" Alan asked, Austin chuckled and shook his head, smiling down at the small boy. "Okay, fine, coffee sounds good." The tall boy smiled, not letting go of Alan's hand as he pulled them along to the coffee shop they went to before. It was warm just like last time and the smell of bakery foods made Alan's stomach grumbled.
Austin happily ordered two coffees and a chocolate chip muffin, ignoring the whines of the ginger boy and begging Austin to let him pay. Alan shook his head and turned, finding a booth to sit at. Austin sat down a few minutes with both cups of coffee and a muffin, smiling at Alan when he rolled his eyes.
The two of them sat in the warm coffee shop, drinking their drinks and talking. Alan munched on the muffin, slapping Austin's hand away when he tried to take some but only failed because Austin ended up getting a few bites. Afterwards it was almost time for school to get and Alan knew his mom would be picking them up, they headed back just in time for the bell to ring and see her pulling him. Austin climbed into the backseat and Alan in the front. Ms. Ashby took Austin home, waving a goodbye to him as he got out.
Alan got out as he arrived home, going inside to see Aaron sitting on the couch, wrapped up in blankets. He smiled at Alan as he sat down, pulling some blankets over him.
"Aaron, what are you doing out of bed?" Ms. Ashby demanded as she walked through the front door.
"I got bored, and being in bed all day isn't as fun as it sounds." He said, she tsked and shook her head.
"You need to be in bed, getting some rest." She said.
"But I've been sleeping for a whole two days." Aaron said, coughing. Ms. Ashby didn't say anything, only walked into the kitchen to start dinner.
Alan and Aaron sat on the couch, watching t.v. together all up until dinner was ready, afterwards Alan's mom finally forced Aaron to go back upstairs so he could take some medicine and sleep. Alan stayed downstairs, curled up in a blanket on the couch, watching t.v. until he fell asleep, that is until a loud tapping on the window in the living made him jump awake.
