"We need to talk." Was the first thing his old man said when Austin walked through the front door. Instantly the boy froze where he stood, knowing all too well what those words meant, but before he jumped straight into conclusions, he was going to allow his father to explain what he meant.
"Take a seat son." His old man added. Slowly Austin peeled himself away from the door and walked over to the couch, sitting down carefully.
"It's happening again," his father started off, "and I know what I promised when we first moved here, we weren't going to move off anywhere else until you graduated, it would be unhealthy for you to leave in the middle of your Senior year."
"You're saying..." Austin trailed off, not knowing very well where this was going.
"I got offered another job, down in California." His father said, and just like that, like a delicate piece of glass, it broke. Austin stared at his old man like he was crazy.
"Please tell me you haven't accepted it." The brunette begged.
"Not yet I haven't." His old man confirmed.
"What if I don't want to move? I like it here, I'm actually doing good in school, I have friends now, Alan-" oh god, Alan. Just the thought of the small boy was enough to break Austin even further.
He couldn't just leave the boy here. He liked Alan so fucking much.
"Son, this is still up for discussion. I have to tell my boss my final decision Saturday."
"That's in two days!" Austin snapped. "Do you just live to move me around the fucking states, making me drop everything?!"
"No, I don't, but when a better offer comes along, one that has better opportunities, I'd like to think it could be a better chance." His old man reasoned.
"I don't want a better chance! And besides, knowing you, we can talk this over and over, again and again, I can beg you to not make me move, but you'd still accept the damn offer!" Austin yelled.
"We've only been here for four months, Austin! What could you possibly be so attached too?" His old man demanded.
"My boyfriend, the one thing that I actually look forward into seeing every fucking day!"
。。。
It was around two in the morning when Alan heard tapping sounds against his window. At first he thought it was just his imagination, but the sound became more rapid and he grew annoyed with it, tossing his covers back and going over to his window, seeing Austin right below it, tossing little pebbles up, like some stupid cliché movie. He pushed it up, sticking his head out
"Open your front door." Austin whisper shouted. Alan rolled his eyes and closed the window, quietly going downstairs and to the front door where he opened it and instantly stumbled in a Austin who giggled and threw himself at Alan who had no other choice but to catch him before he fell and hit the ground.
"Are you drunk?" Alan whispered, frowning at his boyfriend.
"Just like, a little, but I'm also really high." Austin said, snorting. The small boy slapped a hand over his mouth, silencing him from any other noises.
Alan dragged his drunk and high boyfriend upstairs to his room, closing the door and pushing Austin to the bed. The brunette snorted, falling backwards to the soft mattress. Alan rolled his eyes and pulled off the older boys shoes, tossing them down to the floor. Austin snorted again, rubbing at his eyes. The ginger sighed and sat down at the edge of the bed, crossing his legs and looking at his boyfriend.
