The next morning was just as Alan had expected and explained. His mother, like some morning's when Alan slept through his alarm, came in to wake him up. She nearly screamed when she saw a body sleeping on the floor, yelling for Alan to wake up. He quickly sat up, eyes wide and looking around as if there was some sort of fire.
"Who is this?!" His mom screamed from the doorway. Alan sighed and ran fingers through his hair, calming his fast beating heart.
"It's just Austin," Alan said sleepily, nudging the still fast sleeping boy with his foot.
"Just Austin?! What is he doing here!" She demanded, Austin groaned and rubbed at his eyes, jumping when he saw Ms. Ashby standing in the doorway, a very expectant look on her face.
"Him and his dad got into an argument last night, he asked if he could come over so he could get away and I said sure," Alan half lied calmly. His mom crossed her arms, staring at the two boys.
"You didn't wake me to tell me?" She demanded.
"You were fast asleep when I went in there and wouldn't budge, I gave up after a few minutes." Alan replied smoothly. She sighed.
"Next time something like this happens, you tell me. I don't like having to be scared in the morning because I see some body sleeping in my son's room," she said, Alan nodded and mumbled an apology. "Austin, dear, you're more than welcomed to stay here for as long as you need until everything calms down at your house." She added, Austin nodded and smiled sleepily. After she left out of the room, Alan crawled down to the floor and sat cross legged, facing Austin.
"Do you feel okay?" He asked, messing with the ends of the blanket. Austin nodded and sat up, stretching and yawning.
"I'm tired, though." He said, Alan grinned.
"We could skip school again, do something fun," Alan said, biting his lip. Austin looked at him in surprise.
"One day of not going to school has changed you," he said, Alan laughed and rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever," Alan stood up and walked back over Austin, going into his closet and grabbing a sweater, skinny jeans and a pair of boxers before going into the bathroom to take a shower. Austin sighed loudly and sat against the bed, rubbing at his eyes sleepily. He expected so much worse than what he got from Ms. Ashby, but he was thankful that she didn't yell at him or say something that made him leave.
Alan finished up his shower, pulling on his boxers and drying off the rest of his body and hair before pulling on his clothes. After having to comb through his tangled hair, Alan finally stepped out of the bathroom and to his room where Austin was still sat on the floor, staring up at the ceiling with a bored expression.
"Are you going to shower or sit there?" He asked, pulling on his shoes. Austin shrugged and watched as the ginger moved around before finally getting up and going to take a shower. Alan began to fix up his hair, running a brush through it and deciding he looked cute for the day.
Once Austin had been given extra clothes and had finished up his shower, Alan's mom was taking them to school. No one really said anything all the way there. When the two boys got out of the car, Ms. Ashby said a goodbye and drove off. Austin followed behind the small ginger as they went inside the school, going to class and finding their seats.
Austin sighed loudly, slouching in his seat as class began. He didn't want to be here, much like Alan. He planned on skipping out the rest of the day but he should at least make an appearance to at least one class. When the teacher began, Austin fell asleep, eye's dropping close and eventually he was out.
