The next morning Alan was happily walking into first period after saying a goodbye to Aaron and a good morning to his teacher before finding his seat, which was beside Austin, who was already sitting there, his head rested on his hand, looking bored.
"Good morning, you look nice today." Alan said, sitting down in his seat. Austin glanced at him and rolled his eyes, looking away. Alan frowned slightly but thought nothing more of it, at least he felt really nice today. He was wearing one of his many favorite pair of skinny jeans with little rips in the them and a dark blue sweater, along with a pair of vans. His hair was better at fixing this morning. All around, Alan felt nice and happy.
Alan sat back in his seat and played with the end of his sweater, biting his lip and contemplating on speaking. He didn't want Austin to say anything rude to him. Alan glanced at the boy though, seeing that he had a bored expression on his face although he did seem like he was in a better mood than yesterday. Alan admired the little curls in Austin's brown hair and the few that decided to stand out some.
"Why the hell are you staring at me?" Austin snapped. Alan's cheeks flushed a deep red and he quickly looked away, staring at the top of his desk. So apparently he wasn't just glancing but instead fully staring at Austin. Wow, that's embarrassing. Alan bit his lip again and looked around the room, watching some of the students talking to their friends. Sometimes he really wished that Aaron was in his homeroom and fist period class, this was just beginning to become too much- not having anyone to really talk to. Alan looked around the classroom once more, turning and glancing past Austin but it turns out the he was looking directly at Alan. Alan's cheeks flushed again and he glanced away from Austin, to the floor, then to his desk and to the front of the class room. He heard a low chuckle from beside him and decided to glance at Austin who was turning away with a roll of his eyes.
Austin is a very strange person, Alan concluded, very strange indeed.

"Dude," Aaron groaned, plopping down beside Alan. It was after lunch and Aaron was complaining about how hungry he was. He didn't get to go to lunch due to the fact he had lunch detention, meaning he wasn't allowed to go and he had to either scrape gum from under desks or clean up all of the rooms. Aaron went for the latter, refusing to touch years old gum.
"Should've done your homework," Alan said, shrugging. Aaron sighed and slouched down in his seat. Everyone was waiting for Mr. Way to show up.
"But it's so freaking stupid, I'm never going to be using the basics of this bull crap in my everyday life." Aaron whined, sounding like a little kid.
"Some of it you might," Alan pointed out. Aaron glared at him.
"You're supposed to be my best friend, agreeing with me on this." He said, crossing his arms. Alan laughed loudly which caused a few people to turn and look at him before resuming their conversations- and one of those people happen to be Austin but Alan didn't notice.
"I agree with you on ninety percent of things, I can't for this because I actually do my homework and if you were to just ask for someone's then you'd never be in these situations." Alan said, Aaron groaned and threw his head back. He was still hungry.
"Whatever, I'm getting food after school." He muttered, watching as Mr. Way walked towards his desk and plopped down behind it in his chair.
"I totally forgot about having to work today," he spoke, rubbing at his temples. "I have no lessons planned for today either because I may or may not have gotten extremely drunk and left them at the persons house," he furthered explain, "and they aren't home right now, so enjoy talking to yourselves or whatever, I don't care. I need sleep." Mr. Way propped his feet up on his desk, pulled his sunglasses over his eyes and fell asleep quickly. Some kids laughed and continued to talk, others mimicked him and went to sleep too.
"So, food after school huh?" Alan questioned, Aaron nodded.
"Fuck yeah, I'm hungry."
"Of course." Alan muttered.
"And what is that supposed to mean?" Aaron demanded, Alan laughed again, shrugging.
"I dunno, whatever it wants to mean." He said, Aaron grinned.
For the rest of the period people either slept or talked. Alan and Aaron talked randomly, trying to find something to do with the boring hour. This was usual, Mr. Way fast asleep and everyone bored out of their minds or sleeping. Aaron was too awake for sleep, while Alan, on the other hand, was ready to sprawl out on the chairs or the floor and fall right asleep.
Sleepily, Alan gazed around the room, watching the people who were awake talk and laugh. He glanced at one person- Austin. He was talking to Ahren Stringer and they were laughing, having a good time apparently. Alan watched curiously as Austin talked, waving his about as he did so.
He's really strange, seriously, Alan thought, grinning. The bell rang, making everyone jump and stand, leaving out of the classroom. Alan glanced as Austin walked past him, still talking to Ahren.
"Get up," Aaron kicked at Alan's feet. He groaned and stood up, walking out of the classroom behind his best friend who was confusingly energetic for someone being so hungry.

It wasn't until after school that Aaron drove as fast as possible to one of their favorite diners and got something to eat. Aaron was more than happy when his order was placed in front of him. Alan grinned at his best friend and sipped on his drink, pushing the straw around and around, making the ice clink against the side of the glass.
"Hey, look!" Someone shouted from across the diner. Both Kellin and Vic were making their way towards the two, shit eating grins on both their faces.
"Long time no see." Kellin said, happily sitting down in Vic's lap.
"Wait, I thought you were grounded?" Aaron asked. Kellin shrugged and smiled.
"There is such a thing as sneaking out of the window," he said, Vic grinned and nodded, kissing Kellin's cheek.
"And what are you going to do when your mom or dad comes into your room and sees that you are gone?" Alan asked, Kellin shrugged once more.
"That bridge will be crossed once it's gotten to." He said, Alan chuckled.
"Kellin's pretty smart when it comes to this sort of stuff," Vic said, kissing his boyfriends cheek.
"But not when it comes to getting into each other's pants. No, you two forget to lock the freaking door." Aaron said.
"Touché." Vic said, grinning.
"Hey, Vic was being an asshole and rushing me. It was going to be locked but he's too rushing and made me forget." Kellin defended himself, crossing his arms. Alan, Aaron and Vic all laughed, seeing him pout.
"Oh whatever, just put sticky notes or something and you'll be fine." Aaron said, waving his hand dismissively.
"I don't have to sit here and take this." Kellin said.
"You're right, go crawl through your window to get home." Aaron said, Kellin laughed and sat back against Vic, getting himself comfortable. For the longest time the four of them sat there in the diner, laughing and joking until one of them snorted. Alan found himself nearly in tears from whatever the hell they were laughing about. Afterwards, Aaron offered to drop Vic and Kellin off before he took Alan home.
"See you guys later," Kellin said, waving as the back door shut and they were stood at the end of his block, away from his home. Aaron and Alan waved at them once more before leaving, rolling all the Windows down and turning up the stereo with The All-American Rejects playing through the speakers. Cool air seeped through the windows, messing up both their hair but neither of them really caring. Aaron pulled up outside Alan's house, cutting off the engine and deciding to hang out. The two of them went inside, playing video games, laughing and messing around. Mrs. Ashby came home a little later, falling asleep on the couch after Aaron left. Alan decided to go to bed after that, sweet dreams filling his head.
