Skai's House

When we arrive at Skai's house, I can hear her little sister in the indoor pool. She opens the door with a pink and purple key and walks in.

"Mom, I'm home." She yells into the house.

No reply.

"They must be in the pool room I heard Layla splashing." I say, following her.

We walk to the building in the backyard where her little sister Layla is splashing around in the pool.

"Hi Taylor. Nice to see you." Kyla, her mom, says.

"You too Kyla." I reply giving her a smile and waving to Layla.

"Hi Taylor!" She says enthusiastically.

"Hi Layla. Having fun?" I ask, taking off my shoes and pull my leggings up, sticking my feet in the water.

"Yes." She yells and her voice echoes off the walls of the warm pool building.

"The water is warm. I should get one of these for my house." I say to her Kyla.

"It comes in handy when you have nothing to do in the winter. About the winter, what are you guys planning on doing for Christmas?" Kyla asks, moving to a pool chair closer to me.

"Well, we are planning on going to Florida with Ariana's family since its so warm there. Sean's family is going to come down there from Detroit. We won't take Skai this time of course." I say giggling.

"Yep. She has to be here with family around that time of year." She replies, running her hand down Skai's flat ironed hair.

"Mom, stop." Skai commands, moving her mother's hand to her lap.

"Why? You don't want me to embarrass you in front of your friends? I don't even see how that's embarrassing." She says, planting kisses all over Skai's face.

"Mom, no." Skai says, struggling to escape.

"Fine. Layla, swim times over. We have to go grocery shopping. Skai, are you coming?" She asks, helping Layla out of the pool.

"Sure. I'll spend some quality shopping time with my family. See you later Taylor." She replies, giving me a hug before I walk back home.

"Hello, I'm home." I yell into the dark house, immediately a little scared because the last time the lights were out, my family was kidnapped.

"We're up here in Kenzie's room." Ariana yells.

I walk up to Kenzie's room and open the closed door.

"Hey." I say to everyone.

"Hi, did you have fun at Skai's?" Ariana asks, playing gently with Kaylee.

"Well, I was there for about 10 minutes. We were in her pool room. That reminds me. We should get a pool room." I suggest, sitting down and helping Kenzie decorate Sean.

"Done. I'll call the construction company right now." Sean's says, using this as an excuse to stop being messed with.

He leaves the room after giving me Alyson and I cradle her fragile body in my arms, feeling lucky that I have 2 nieces.

"Hey so, how are you feeling?" Ariana asks, cradling Kaylee to sleep.

"About what?" I reply, looking up from Alyson.

"You know, what happened yesterday." She says.

"Oh. I'm fine. It's totally ok."

"Are you sure? I really am sorry."

"I'm fine Ariana. Don't worry."

"Ok. Good. Put Alyson to sleep." She says, taking Kaylee to her crib.

I slowly rock her to sleep and put her in her crib shortly after. Me and Ariana go downstairs where Sean is watching TV. We join him on the couch and watch Scream.
