I hadn't even thought to check my emails. Reading the messages from Emily now, I realize how stressed she must be with my absence. Clicking the reply button I start to type, knowing I won't be able to tell her the truth, only a form of it.

I'm sorry I haven't been checking my messages, I've been busy here. I met someone. I'm fine and safe here just haven't had any chances to look at my emails lately.
As for my father, you are right. I don't really care. But he is my father and I will be coming home as soon as I can. I'll keep you posted when I land in America.
As for Gregory, I will talk with him but just between you and I, I don't think I'll be coming back for work.

I press the send button and watch as it leaves my screen. I know I won't be able to stay in America, not now.
