{ CHAPTER 8 - DREAM'S TRUTH WITH A NIGHTMARE'S LIE OR STILL UNSEEN? }
Under the dreary moonlight holding on to the balcony’s railing with his left hand breathing in the night’s briskly pine tree air and drowning his thoughts in a bottle of rum; as he looked up at the moon’s eye and a brusque of icy air pecking against his uncovered neck.
“Oh, Lucinda; how I missed you dearly.”
He took a few more steps closer to the railing pressing his body to it, leaning towards the icy pecks that showered his neck.
If only all the secrets were gone.
If only everyone could move on.
If only everyone were safe.
If only they knew.
Hunting ; Colton’s Point of View
“Yum; what a delight you were. Type O Negative, my favorite.” I chuckled as I looked at the girl pale and still in my arms critiquing my meal before disposing her off to the wolves.
As I reached the wolves grounds of Redrum Forest, I dropped the delicious female on the ground with a slight thump on the ducky path leading to the ripped and claw-marked castle. It was faintly small for one purpose, no lingerers on their grounds.
“Another one, Colton; are you pregnant?” The alpha male had huskily joked with my seventh delivery the past two days. It was natural to only eat two meals a day but it was weird that I was eating more than normally but I defiantly know Im not pregnant, male vampires don’t get pregnant.
“Ha, ha. That was so funny, I’m dying of laugher.” I mocked.
“But you’re already dead.”
“Exactly.” I emphasized my mockery. “Anyway, I have to run. Bye, Brad. Oh and take good care of Kelsey, would you?”
“Yes, Colton.” Brad said as I walked away and howled to his pack, signaling that dinner was here.
I walked away thinking about why my appetite had increased so much. Maybe I’m just so frustrated and stressed about that girl, Starandra. Yeah that’s right. That’s what it is… I think.
“Colton, can you help me bring these boxes to your mother’s room?” My father, Kelvin, asked as I walked into the living room throwing my jacket on the sofa’s arm.
“Sure, what’s in them?”
“You’ll find out one day, just not now – and no peaking!” My father’s tone changing rapidly as he caught me trying to open the box.
“Okay, jeez, what’s with all the secrets?”
“It’s for your own good. But you’ll find out soon. Just help me with these boxes already.” He spoke as he was already going up the stairs and I closely followed behind.
“How many days until The Time have come?” I asked as he opened the door to my mother’s room, softly kicking it open.
“Twenty-one days. Why; is someone anxious?” My father smirked with a chuckle.
“Maybe I am. But it’s not about what you think, it’s about this girl.”
“But isn’t that what I think; it is supposed to be about a girl.”
“No, not that kind of way though. I haven’t found a girl yet for the ceremony… I found this girl that is different.”
“Different how?”
“Different, different; like she’s not normal for some reason.”
“Well you’re not normal and there’s a reason for it…maybe she’s a long lost vampire too.” My father shrugged as he put these two cents in with the reply.
“Maybe.” I quietly said to myself as the thought of Starandra flooded my mind.
The way she kissed me; it was like magic – if magic is even real. Her lips molding into mine like they were the missing puzzle piece. Her beautiful but secret-full eyes that hypnotized me every time I looked into them. And her perfect fame fitting perfectly against mine; is she the one? The one to finish The Time; the one to be with me forever?
Middle of the Night ; Third-Person Point of View
Dark then light.
She looked up at the night skies to see that the sun was blazing down to the kiss her skin.
Silent then whispers.
“Come to me, VeeVee.” The air spoke in her ears, making her feel calm and weightless, as they whispered her past human nickname.
Still then running.
She was looking ahead to nowhere running to find something. Anything.
Blinded then clear vision.
After her eyes blink slowly pink fields absorbed her sights and happiness rang through her body.
Beauty then Nightmare.
Kicking her shoes her off as she found a place with no worries and a place to call her own. Turning around expecting butterflies and smiley face bubbles but was a group of people dressed in all black killing her happy land with every step they took.
“Stop in the name of love.” She whispered with agony to have them stop before her world was gone.
“You can’t have love with him.”
“Him? Who is this him you refer to?”
“Him.” They said in unison before flying in the air to disappear only leaving red dust to float around her innocent azure heavens. Lingering everywhere it was reaching closer and closer to her; the smell of it flooding in her nose.
Blood.
Its scent and fog laced around her body softly until moments later it felt like it was suffocating her. She cried out in pain and in need.
“Please help me! Help! Someone please!”
Her vision was flashing back to see herself and the last person she never wanted to see save her.
Colton.
“No!” Starandra’s head snapped up from her bed as her eyes were widened in shock and her breathing was heavily racing.
“No, he can’t be… he just can’t be.” She whispered to herself as she covered her face with her sweaty palms.
Starandra’s dream just might have revealed someone’s secret or is it a nightmare’s lie to cover the real ones up?
