{ CHAPTER 13 - NO AIR WITHOUT LOVE }
Chilling air creeped around to connect its sensation with something or anything; one gush of icy oxygen was searching for something more, wanted to connect with warmth. As it lingered around Redrum it flew through the open doors of Redrum High and slipped under doors and as a human opened its access to the dance room piercing screams stung at the chilling air. But as it ignored it and came closer to the body lying on the floor, you could practically imagine it licking its lips from its warmth it was about to indulge, but to its disappointment the body was as cold as its self. Freezing in fact.
“Help! There’s a dead body in the dance room!”
The woman chased the halls as she panted her chants of fear and important notices to the crowd staring at her every move until she reached the principal’s office.
“Principal–” she was caught off by an empty room.
“Excuse me… but where’s… Principal Colbert?” The woman panted, catching her breath, as she asked the secretary.
“He was transferred to the elementary school. The new principal should be coming in soon.” The secretary said plainly with no emotion as if not caring any actions or movements surrounding her.
“But this is an emergency!” The woman bellowed.
The secretary glared at the computer, she was constantly typing away on, with the annoyance of the woman.
“My daughter was murdered in the dance room…” She whispered her yelp close to the annoyed secretary to get her point across the table, with tears staining her face. After her words had slithered into the lady’s ears she froze with widened eyes, turning her head to come face to face with this reporting woman.
“Then what are you doing telling me this?! You should be on the fucking phone with 911!” The secretary argued with her for her stupidity towards the situation. She picked up the phone dialing 911.
911 on the scene; Third-Person Point of View
As the women were being questioned by the authorities at the moment, the woman that discovered the body was interrupted by her phone singing its tone.
“Excuse me, officer?” She pointed to her phone, signing for permission to answer.
“Of course, Ma’am.” The officer tipped his hat in a flirty matter as she slowly walked a little bit away from the small crowd around to answer the phone. She saw from the corner of her right eye that some of the crowd where listening on her upcoming conversation.
“If you want your daughter’s murderer to be exposed say, hello Cathy.” The harsh voice spoke on the other end of the call. It was confusing her mind a little as to why he was helping her when she didn’t even know this blocked numbered man.
“Hello Cathy…” She looked back at the crowd putting on a fake smile then quickly turning around to focus on the call.
“If the police are with you right now, say yes or no.” The mysterious man ordered.
“Yes.”
“In the next 30 minutes you will meet me at the very end of the pier. If you accept this demand say, I appreciate your call Cathy.”
“I appreciate your call Cathy.”
“If you tell the cops, that secretary, or anyone else you're dead too. If you understand say, bye Cathy.”
“Bye Cathy.” She said as clearly as she could even though her voice was caught in her throat.
“Bye, Veronica.” The husky killing voice slithered with a horrid laugh. How did he know her name?
