Flames Burn Seconds of Confusion to be Revealed

{ CHAPTER 11 - FLAMES BURN SECONDS OF CONFUSION TO BE REVEALED } 

“I wish for real love for my life.”

My wish had been repeating through my mind throughout the whole day of my present attendance of school.

“No, he’s not. It’s just a coincidence.” I whispered to myself as I thought long and hard about Colton and I, and the fact that there was no Colton and I.

In Redrum if you wish anything when a wolf is howling to the moon, it comes true. It always comes true.

“Ugh,” I groaned in frustration as my mind was killing all my mind tricks of the possibilities why all this can’t be true. “I don’t love Colton!” I yelled a little bit too loud to get the attentions of the whole hallway, thirty pair of eyes piercing every inch of my skin. I cleared my throat at the embarrassment as the whispers started to spit softly off their tongues to snake the sound waves to nosy ears of high school students.

I walked out the school and sunk in my Volvo s60 as I breathed out a breath of stress. I planted my elbows on the steering wheel and molding my forehead in my hands rubbing my temples with my thumbs as I closed my eyes and took long deep breaths.

“Stressed?”

I straightened by the voice that had ate a cluster of silence in the car.

“What are you doing in my car? Who are you?” I splat questions as I looked through the review mirror and saw a figure in all black with its hoodie hiding most of his face features, and sunglasses blinded my view to its eyes. All I could see was a perfectly sculpted jawline that only a man could have.

“Starandra you don’t have much time, they are coming. You need to keep your eye on the target on all times; you never know when it could change size.”

“What are you talking about?”

“The time, Starandra. Keep out for The Time.”

I looked down at my digital clock that read 2:18 post meridian. I looked back to stutter out another question but the figure was gone. He was gone.

I looked out all the windows and the windshield of the car only to see students walking by caring on conversations with their acquaintances. My eyes flickered back to the clock only to see it very different. :10

I was ticking very secondly as if it was… counting down.

My eyes widened at the realization hit me and I looked back to be ticking just under five seconds. I jumped out the car and ran.

“Everyone down! Run away! Bomb!”

The entire flood of students ran the opposite of my car and I ran jumping in the air to land with my arms in front of my face as I hit the ground for cover.

BOOM.

After the bomb had irrupted and flames fluttered viciously at the scene, everyone got up and slowly took step backs away further. I looked around for a sign of some sort as sirens were echoing in the light wind.

“The time, Starandra. Keep out for The Time.”

Was that my sign? Does it mean more will come?

I shook my head as I picked up my shattered phone from off the ground. The impact of my drop had damaged my phone terribly. I sighed and turned to walk away down the road a seventeen mile long road and that wasn’t even counting the additional roads in the forest.

Third-Person Point of View

The signal was sent. The threat was pinned to the ground. The minutes were passing by mighty quickly and everyone needed to know what was going on sooner than later because if not then even the worst will be more than a nightmare. It will be hell.

As an exhausted Starandra tumbled lightly in the house, Dominic stared at her from the couch with his eyebrows furrowed.

“Are you drunk?”

“No,” She sneered with daggers shooting at him. “I walked over twenty miles.”

“But you had your car…” Dominic trailed off taking in detail that her clothes were dirty and there was black streaks that looked like little burn marks on her left cheek, and her eyes were frightened and anger emotions flooding around her pupils.

“What happened, Star?”

“My car was bombed.” She breathed as her breathes were coming back normal again.

“What!?” Dominic yelled as he got up and paced the wooden floors and whispered words to himself.

“I have to tell you something, Starandra. I think it’s time now.”

“You think?”

“It’s for your safety.”

Starandra sat down on the couch as Dominic rubbed his palms against his face as he breathed in a tight breath and sat down hesitantly down next to her.

“You should know that there is more to this mission than you think.”

“Where are you going with this, Dominic?”

“Just listen to me, Starandra.” Dominic shook his head as he pleads, and then continues his words. “Lucinda was more than the warden of Redrum but a queen to the vampires in Timeoloria. Time is coming close and that means that on October 31st her little puppets – you can call them – will bring on an attack of the first annual revenge war – I would call it. But the vampires title it to be; Baisers de la mort [Kisses of Death] you are either killed by their bite or you’re forced to be their mate. This mission is more than just for revenge or accomplishment to add along with our past missions, but to save Redrum, the poor innocent people. And I can’t believe I am saying this but, you are doing the good thing here this time. You’re not killing for pleasure, your killing for victory and freedom.”

“So, what you’re saying here is that Colton is now the step-up leader to Timeoloria and they have been plotting this attack for years and you expect me to kill Colton in less than a week to save our town. I can’t handle that.”

“But you can! You’re bionic, fuck damn it!” Dominic hollered in frustration at how Starandra wasn’t cooperating.

“Just because I’m some freak, you assume that I can do anything?!”

“Because I know you can! I made you to do anything, everything!”

“You forgot one thing…”

“What?”

Starandra breathed in a soft breath as she took in reality of what she was about to say but still didn’t care because it was one-hundred percent true.

“You didn’t program me to kill the ones I love.”
