{ CHAPTER 17 - LAY YOUR DEATH BED }
It may be wrong to feel the way they feel amongst each other but it’s what others would call true love. Even though they hardly talk and they barley know each other it’s was like the universe has an invisible string tying their hearts together. There is no way of getting out of it.
“Colton, did you see Kelsey’s body?” Starandra questioned, looking up at his face as his arms were looped around her waist from behind her as they swayed with the wind during this midday light.
“No, but her funeral is supposed to be after the interrogation.” He informed her with all his information.
“When do you think that will be?” Her curiosity was cutting a deeper hole for her then she was realizing.
“You surly stick your pretty little nose in everything, don’t you?” Colton teased as he kissed the tip of her nose, smirking down at her.
“It never hurt to be curious, right?”
“Well… curiosity killed the cat.” He stated in a mumble but it seemed bluntly to Starandra.
Starandra shook her head with his slight blunt joke and leaned into his embrace deeper as she closed her eyes savoring this moment as she knew that this could be their last moment together before she is forced to kill him at the Halloween ball.
It churned her stomach as she was to imagine such a thing. Killing the one person she truly loved and maybe fully trusted but something deep, deep in her was telling that this was supposed to be done for her job and for the safety of herself.
“I have something to ask you,” Colton whispered in her ear softly before guiding her up off his own lap and having them stand face to face under the sunlight. “Will you go to the Halloween Ball with me?”
It was as if the universe as just set him up with his own death bed. It would be easier to succeed her mission if he was her date… lead him into a private place, pretend to lean in for a kiss, but to his surprise a stab to his heart.
“Yes, I’d love to.” She smiled as real as she could as his mirrored hers to a more excited expression then her own. He snaked his hands around her waist and pulled her up so that their chests were pressed against each other as he spun her around with the movement of the wind.
As he slowly placed her back gown on the ground, Starandra was hearing what Colton was saying but was too much to concentrate on exact words when all that could suddenly come in her mind was that this could be her last week with Colton and she is going to make it worth both of their wilds.
She grabbed his wrist pulling him back in the house through the window and pushed him edge of the bed, leaving him to be seated. She sat on his lap caressing his left cheek starring into his eyes. The chocolate orbs with the slightest golden in them left her speechless every time. As they had mirrored each other while licking their lips softly she leaned down as he lifted his head at a perfect angle to meet her lips in a blissful kiss. It wasn’t rough and forceful to proceed with another lusting session but it was passionate. A butterflies flying in your stomach, breathe hitched in your mouth, lips gliding against each other as if they had their own mind kind of passionate. It was perfect – in the simplest terms used.
At school; Third-Person Point of View
As the two of them arrived at Redrum High all that was on Starandra’s mind was finding more about Kelsey’s death and why would anyone have a motive to murder her, from all she heard about Kelsey was that she was a perfect little angel.
Anyway, apart from that she could feel eyes burning through her head as she waked hand in hand with Colton West. As she looked up at him slightly he was smiling and walking with no care that the whole student body and faculty staff were striking their eyes at them the whole time they were walking down the main hall. After they had reached her locker the burning seemed to cool down but still a sting was still lingering around Starandra, as she looked around she locked eyes with no other then Dominic. He was glaring at her with force and complete anger.
“I’ll be right back.”
“Where you going?”
“The principal had signaled for me. I guess he needs to speak to me.” I told him quickly pointing to Dominic softly and then started walking away to become closer to Dominic.
“What?”
“Why are you so close to West? He is your vic–” Starandra glared at him instead of covering his mouth because he was the principal at that is not what a ‘daughter’ would do.
“Shhh! Could you lower your voice? Damn,” she paused to flow her fingers through her hair with anger as she looked back at Dominic. “I’m getting close to victim. It’s still my study phase, so calm the fuck down.” She whispered to him.
“You only have a week left, Starandra.”
“I know,” She yelled but calmed her voice as she looked around to have a few students catch her attention. “Just let me do this my way, please.” She continued her sentence in a whispered tone.
“Okay, but you have to fulfill the mission.”
Starandra nodded and walked back to her locker kissing Colton’s cheek as she looped her arm under his upper arm as they walked to first period together.
{ AUTHOR'S NOTE }
Chapter 17 everyone! I hope you enjoyed it. I cant wait to write the Halloween Ball in the next chapter its going to be crazy, I know that you guys will be excited to read it. It will take me a longer time for me to post it because that chapter will be much longer then the others and I also have to finish my summer homework that my stupid school gives... like really who assigns homework in the summer? ugh. If your wondering each student has to read two books out of this list that they provide for us and we have to read them before the two months of the summer is up and have a read and response journal all filled in daily or at least weekly with professional and 'at our grade level wording' responses when a portion is read then we have to write an essay based on the two books' similarities and differences. Eww.
Anyway, please comment, vote, promote (Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, etc) and save to your reading lists!
I'll try to post the next chapter soon but I estimate it to be... August 10 2013, 7pm (EST)
