Chapter 17

I was pacing around the lodge thinking about how I just left Josh in the shed, how could I do that? I should go back and talk to him, I need to. Chris comes over and pulls me into a hug while Sam and Ashley are talking about what happened. I let Chris hug me but I don't return it right now I need to worry about Josh. Out of no where Emily starts banging on the door,

"Let me in! Let me IN!!!"

"It's Em!"

"Let her in! Quick!!!" Chris and I go rushing towards the door, Chris swings it open and Emily rushes inside and knocks us both down.

"Shut the door! Oh my god--Shut the door!!", Ashley helps up Emily while Sam helps me up. I go to Emily seeing that she is covered in blood and mud, she grabs onto my hand and holds onto me for balance,

"I didn't think that I'd make it--"

"You were screaming bloody murder"

"Are you okay?" ignoring what Chris said. She just looks at me terrified, more terrified than I've ever seen anyone. Leading her to the couch she plops down, speaking frantically, she brings me to sit by her and clings to my arm. I tell her to take a few breathes

"Emily what happened?"

"Something's out there. A monster-- It's a monster!"

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, I don't feel anything. I just need to calm down. It was moving so damn fast-- I just had to get away"

"Emily, take a breathe, now tell us exactly what happened?", Emily took a couple of breathes and calm down slightly.

"Th-There was this thing, whatever it was--!"

"Em, Em, you can relax... Josh was messing with us.. but we-" I got really irritated with what Sam said. I know that Josh pranked us-extremely- and it wasn't cool but the way she said it made me mad.

"You're not listening to me. I am trying to tell you. We were climbing up the tower and it fell. The whole tower fell! Right into the mines--"

"Whoa whoa whoa, what mines?"

"There are these mines shafts all over, running under everything, when the tower fell we ended up down there"

"IT FELL!"

"Guys stop interrupting her and let her speak!" Emily continues and tells us about how there are mines and about finding.. Finding Beth's head. When she said that I felt my body go numb and I felt sick. I excused myself to the washroom and puked a couple of times. I stayed in the bathroom a couple of minutes and washed my face to get some of the puked off. I heard a door slam and an unknown voice saying something. I head downstairs and see a back towards me, the person was wearing a hat, huge winter coat, and had a flame thrower on his back.. He hears me get to the bottom step and stares at me. Oh my god! He's the one that was with Hanna and Beth when they died. Feeling the adrenaline pumping through my veins I swing my right hook, he quickly catches it but doesn't throw any fists he just drops me,

"I remember you... You were trying to get to the two girls that were hanging from the cliff"

"And you're the fucker that killed them!"

"Actually I was trying to save them young lady"

"Yeah right! My ass you were!" He just sighs

"Let me say what I came to say" Chris grabs my arm and pulls me towards him making sure I don't do anything rash just yet

"I'm here to tell you what you're up against being back on the mountain. You should never have returned. I don't know why you did after what happened last year. I don't take kindly to kids coming up to my mountain"
