Chapter 18

After catching Jessica up with everything that happened and how Mike was upset for the reason that he thought she had died. She seemed to brighten up when I told her that.

"Okay so now that you know we need to get you out of here!"

"Wait what about you?" she whispered cause she was pretty banged up.

"I need to find Josh, he's still down here"

"I'm not leaving without you" I grab both of her shoulders and get real serious

"You need to get out of here I'll help you but I need to find Josh and if you get out than you can go and find the others for help" She just nods, I drop my hands and sigh. I pulled my sleeve into my hand and wiped her face a little cause she looked so badly bruised and the blood was dried that it was probably getting dirty. I wipe softly but I was able to get some of them off, she just smiled at me and whispered a thank you.

"Alright lets find a way out for you" we start walking around looking for an way out. It took us a while to find the opening, we looked at each other and smiled. Just as we were about to get outside we hear a screeching coming from behind us. I grabbed Jessica and hid behind some wood planks, I put my finger to my lips signifying to be quite and to stay really still. Hearing the footsteps coming closer and closer we both closed our eyes so that if we did see the Wendigo we wouldn't have the urge to move. It stops and looks around sniffing and watching everything, I move my head slightly and the Wendigo stops and comes closer to us and just stares just in case I moved. The Wendigo started to leave not finding any interest in it's surroundings, letting out a breathe I whisper to Jessica that I was going to see if everything is clear. I turn my head and check both ways making sure that I listen carefully to any noise. Seeming to be clear we head out from our hiding spot.

"Okay go and find the other if you don't find them get yourself to a safe spot and wait. Stay relevantly close to the lodge cause the guys called the police and they'll be here at dawn. Do not under any circumstance move when you hear a voice or see a shadow until you know for sure who it is. When I find Josh I come find you, alright?" Jessica just nodded and hugged me.

"You always knew what to say and do. Don't forget to come back cause we still need to hang out and talk about boys" I knew she was just trying to lighten up the mood and I really appreciated it but I knew that at the rate I'm going I hope I just don't end up dead. She head out from the mines and I go deep back in them. I walked back to the destroyed elevator to find some sort of knife or spear like weapons. Rummaging through the chaos I was able to find a piece of metal-pretty small but useable- with a very sharp edge.

While walking through the mines I made sure that I would leave some sort of clue-markings, landmarks, etc- that I was down that way so when I did find Josh we could follow them and get the hell out. Finally I heard noises, stopping I listened carefully, the noise seemed to be getting closer and closer. I lifted the metal and waited for the noise to be right by me, It was only a few inches away and then it was right behind me. The two figures stood in front of me and I decided to make my move I crept sideways so they would see me and I quickly punched the one in the head and got read for whatever was about to happen. The figure groans,

"Whoa! Whoa, Y/n it's us, Sam and Mike" I look closer letting my eyes adjust and I see that Mike is on the ground and Sam is holding her hands up. I lower the weapon and walk closer to them.

"My bad-" But before we could speak anymore we heard screaming. We started to follow the voice, it followed it for a long time but then it fell silent. What the fuck is going on? We kept pushing forward and as we neared a clear opening we saw Josh mumbling and going into on of his hallucinations. We all run up to him,
