Chapter 17

Eleanor Elmer a middle aged brunette lady and the mother of Ian Elmer. After divorcing her husband two years after the birth of her child, she regretted the fact that she didn't keep the female child. A child she conceived out of a terrible mistake a year after the birth of Ian. But she couldn't keep the child because she wanted to protect her marriage instead she gave the child to her friend. She lost contact with her friend and tried every means to find her but she couldn't. She had sleepless nights regretting why she hadn't taken care of the baby and most importantly it was a girl child and she always longed for a girl child.

It was some weeks ago merely two weeks ago she met that friend in Japan when she was on a trip. She was coming out of a mall and her friend was just going, immediately Eleanor saw her she recognized her immediately

"Angela?" She called

Angela stopped her and stared strangely at the Lady that called her then like her memory clicked
"Eleanor" she smiled

Eleanor sighed deeply and hugged her friend
"Oh my! How long has it been? How have you been? Let's go to the cafe"

"OK let's go" Angela agreed and both women left

After had they had sat down and gotten their orders

"I have searched for you everywhere you were no longer in New York. I wouldn't have guessed you were in Japan"

"Yea I had a divorce and my husband died anyways, so I moved here with my son"

Eleanor became scared and uncertain for a moment because Angela talked only about her son and not a daughter.

"Ah! I see" Eleanor raised a brow unsure of what to say but then she thought again why should be nervous asking her about her own child. She had sat every right to know her whereabout if she was dead or alive she decided to ask. She took a sip of her coffee and looked up at Angela

"What of my child?"

Angela looked up to and smiled a little

"You remember huh? I thought you abandoned her for me"

"Why would I abandon her?" Eleanor said a little bit emotional "You think I did? You were that left without a trace".

Angela sighed first then said " Your daughter is fine but she's not with me"

"What!" Eleanor froze her facing turning pale

"Some rich conglomerate adopted her. I couldn't take her after the divorce

"But I want her back" Eleanor desperately said holding Angela's hand "You have to help me, you've been her mother all her life. I can't do it on my own

"Alright" Angela agreed "I'll help of course when I'm done with business here, I'll come to DC"

Meanwhile in Cherryfield high, Lyn's class had just completed gym class. It was lunch break anyways so many students were hurrying up to go to the cafeteria. Lyn and Toni walked hand in hand out of the gym

"Wow Toni you're going out with Chuck huh?"

"Who told you that?" Toni snapped

"Why are you acting so ignorant, you guys made out in front of the whole school. Everyone is talking about it"

"Ah whatever" Toni waved her hand then turned curiously to look at Lyn and saw the chain she was wearing

"What's that on your neck?"

"Oh this!" Lyn held it up "Neal gave it to me"

"Oh yea, he's always wearing that...but why did he give it to you?"

"He actually said he was throwing it away to me"

"What's that?" Toni scoffed "Why are you guys so ignorant with each other if he likes you he should man up and say it 'Lyn be my girl' just like Chuck did"

"Are you showing off?" Lyn teased "But seriously Neal can't like me, we're sworn enemies, but he acts nice sometimes"

Just then Toni grinned at Lyn like a sheepish 5 year old

"So tell me do you like him?"

Lyn was about to object but was rudely interrupted when that girl called Nikki walked up to her holding Neal's chain on her neck

"What's this?" She asked angrily

Lyn pushed her hand "Can't you tell by looking at it. Its a chain"

"I mean why are you wearing it? It belongs to Neal"

That moment Neal was passing but he stopped when he heard his name. He turned back and saw Nikki talking to Lyn but from the way he saw it, it didn't look friendly at all. They seemed to be having it at each other.

"That bitch seriously" he said referring to Nikki, he was about to go there when he felt Ian's arm around his shoulder and Chuck was with him too

"Let's go eat lunch Neal...." Then stopped when he saw some students gathered "What's happening there?"

"Girl fights I presume" Chuck answered but then saw Toni in between and was surprised

"I mean why are you wearing it, it belongs to Neal" Nikki said with an angry expression

"What does it matter to you?" Lyn snapped

"Neal is my boyfriend, he confessed to me the other day"

"Boyfriend?" Lyn chuckled remembering what told her before then she smirked and said
"Sorry but your boyfriend gave it me, now move while I'm being nice" Lyn was about to leave but Nikki dragged her back by pulling her hair

"Ow!" Lyn winced in pain "Hey! Let go of my hair

"Why would Neal give something like this to you. Did you steal it?"

"What!.... Steal?" Toni stepped in and pushed Nikki away "Have you lost your mind" Toni said after then Nikki faced her

"Stop being nosy and go meet your boyfriend" Nikki pushed Toni hard almost making her lose her balance

"Or wait!" She held Toni by her collar and held Lyn too "Did you too plan it together?"

"Stop saying nonsense and let go of this" Toni released herself from Nikki's hold

"What nonsense? I want to know why Neal gave his chain to this sly bitch" Lyn glared at Nikki because of what she said but Toni completely lost it and yelled

"What do you mean sly bitch? Why are you acting so cranky about it. Why wouldn't Neal give it to her when they lived together"

Suddenly she realised what what she said and covered her mouth, she shot Lyn an apologetic look who was staring unbelievably at her

"What!.... Live together?" Nikki scoffed with a total shocked expression on her face......
