Chapter Five: The Bloody Dungeon

PART 1

[A/N: Picture of what Alaric Ascelyn looks like in my eyes is above]

-

After staring at my reflection in the long mirror beside the dress-bombarded wardrobe for endless minutes, I decided that I should check on my ladies who had been out for quite the while.

I had been trying on new dresses from my closet for the past hour, and I had come to a decision to definitely wear the black lace mermaid gown.

It was absolutely beautiful.

Well, the dress was beautiful, not me. My face made it look less gorgeous, but my body was perfectly curved to the point where the dress felt like second skin.

Contemplating whether to leave my room, I focused my eyes out through the windows of the French double doors leading out to my very own balcony.

I swatted the white lace curtains aside and pushed the balcony doors open to be hit by a relaxing and chilling breeze.

Inhaling the smell of nature, my nostrils flared as I took in the extraordinary scent of spring. With care to my black mermaid-like dress, I carefully lifted foot after foot as I stepped forward to the shining white railing the risen sun was reflecting upon.

I clasped my hands around the railing and took in the mind-blowing landscape beyond.

The large ponds stocked with all kinds of fishes, the artistic sculptures spaced out along the well-cut grass, the trees blowing in the strong wind with falling dry brown and yellow leaves and of course the very colourful flowers and bushes.

It was remarkable.

Squinting my eyes I noticed a bunch of castle guards calling for the gates to be opened, I couldn't see who was waiting to enter the premise of the castle but they must be very important, seeing as about more than fifty guards suddenly marched out the entrance and formed two lines from the castle entrance to the gates.

It was crazy especially the fact the gates were far from the castle doors.

I could see the rest of Aeralin quite well from here, the castle wasn't too separated from the rest of the region. I could see groups of stone buildings, walls and playgrounds. I could see various villages, farms, lands and everything you'd imagine a well-off region would have.

From this view, I could already tell you that my home region Icilia was nothing compared to this.

Remembering that my ladies aren't here and it is nearly breakfast, I go back to my room and close the balcony doors before exiting my room. Fortunately on the way out, Thomas the guard is nowhere in sight to question me on why I am leaving my room.
