Chapter Sixty-Nine: The Light Vs Dark.

---

Omar's POV~

"You have to tell somebody, maybe Alexander?" Kiera, one of Lady Ascelyn's ladies exclaimed.

I shook my head quickly, "what no!"

Olivia, Natalya's new servant chirped, "I think you should. Alexander is the nicest one."

"Debatable," Leia said, pointing a finger, "Cathryn is the kindest."

Claudia laughed out, "are you crazy?! It's obviously Prince Zachary."

We all looked at Claudia, and slowly the corners of her lips tugged up, "I am kidding!! I see the prince in my nightmares."

"There is no denying that he is dreamy," Kiera swayed, her chin rested on her fist, "he and Natalya make a cute couple, despite the shit he put her through."

"I agree," Olivia sighed, "but if its true that Preston and Natalya are in love, then the hope for Zac and Natalya is minimal. I heard King Preston is more than just handsome, his a bad boy."

"A bad boy that could kill you," Leia added and I hummed agreeing with her.

"Anyway, enough talk about Natalya's love life. What should I seriously do?" I placed my hands on my forehead and leant forward, resting my elbows on my thighs.

Claudia thought out loud, diverting our attention to her, "Omar, I think you should tell Alexander. Olivia is right. Plus, if Cathryn already knows what is the harm in telling Alexander?"

He could end up telling his father? And then, the queen and Cathryn will somehow find out that I was eavesdropping on their conversation, and then I will be sentenced to death. Maybe its a risk I am willing to take.

"Fine, I will tell him."

Cassandra's POV~

"Let me get this right," I interrupted them after having lifted my hand, "you want me to act like a 'perfect angel' to make Natalya jealous."

Alaric desperately sighed. "If you would, it would be great." You could tell Alaric was consumed in both anxiety and worry that his sister was far away from his supervision.

I had just found out that Natalya hadn't been captured by the witches, but she'd been abducted by the demon king and was in the Shadowlands as we speak.

"I don't understand, why would acting good make Natalya jealous, and aren't you trying to get her to come back... just sneak into Hades castle and rescue her," I suggested like it was the most obvious solution in the world.

Alaric looked at Xavier who looked at Chris who looked at Derek who finally looked at Prince Zachary.

"It's a very long story which we only have time to summarise. Basically, our lovely sweet Natalya has been taken by the demons and forced to love the big bad demon king," Prince Zachary spitefully smiled, angry at the thought of Natalya having relations with that man.

It was obvious he loved Natalya. I hated that. I hated that I could tell he wanted her. "And..."

"She is so love-struck that there is zero percent of her coming back at the click of a finger, so we figured with the black witch's input that if you pretended to be Zac's new obsession, either Preston will move onto you or my sister will want Zac back, and come back with us," Alaric explained and I still didn't understand the logic of plan, I won't question it.

But if I was to question them, I would ask how are they so sure that Natalya would be jealous of me being Zac's favourite girl. After what he did, I wouldn't blame her if she hated his guts.

I cannot believe he even has the audacity to think that she would come back crawling to him. Although my love for the prince was still strong, I could admit that he was a cruel jerk.

A cruel jerk that was trying so hard to change for the better.

"Okay, I promise I will help you. But," I lifted a solitary finger, "this better be confirmation that I am making it through to the next stage of IMPRESS."

"Deal," Zac instantly said, no hesitation evident in his voice or body language, "now let's get some people to make you look uhm..."

"-Prettier than Natalya?" I scowled, crossing my arms and filling in the blanks of what he wanted to say.

"You said it, not me," he said in an unbothered tone which had me grumbling under my breath. "As soon as you are made to look just a bit more presentable, we are heading to the Shadowlands, and we are going to have a little double-date with King Preston and Natalya.
