IMPRESS.
"Going once... Going twice..." Preston pointed his fingers in the air. "SOLD FOR 10,000 TO THE LADY IN THE THIRD ROW, WEARING GREY!" He barked with excitement causing everyone to applaud another sold slave.
Well, everyone but me...
I was sat in my chair, still annoyed with my arms crossed whilst glaring at Sir Preston Knight who motioned for the next slave to be unlocked and brought up to the stage.
Sitting here in silence wasn't helping anyone and proving any point; maybe I could channel my anger and turn it into something a little more productive?
I finally stood up beside Cathryn and Derek, deciding to partake in the auction.
Just because I was curious to see what he was doing, I turned my head and peered my eyes at Zac who was stood the other side of the aisle, holding Ella's waist somewhat possessively.
A blade struck my heart when Zac caught me staring and thought it would be the best moment for him to steal a long and passionate kiss from my cousin.
The blade didn't strike my heart because I was jealous, it struck because of Zac's actions and awful mentality. I swear it.
He thought I loved him and thought because I loved him he could hurt me by showing affection to another girl in front of my eyes knowing full well the impact on me if I did in fact, love him.
Which I don't.
I just held my breath and looked away.
I hope that showed Zac how much I really didn't care about him.
So far a hundred slaves had been sold and only one out of a hundred of those slaves was purchased by my fellow castle peeps.
Aaron had managed to get a young blonde boy aged sixteen, small and very adorable. The thing that must have stood out to Aaron was probably the fact the boy had the potential to be a smartly dressed footman rather than an ordinary servant.
Everyone else was being very picky but hopefully, now that I've joined in, I might be able to buy myself one or two slaves who I can then turn from poor to well-off castle room attendants, that is if I can beg someone of higher power.
I'm sure if I fight for it, Cathryn out of the royals will support me.
Plus I might as well join in the auction seeing as the money I bid is coming out of the royals' bank accounts, not mine.
"Next is a vampire boy, turned at the age of 19. We have made sure this one remained separated from the others, this one is clean, very obedient, a fighter and quite the charmer..." Preston spoke loud and clearly, making sure the people far back would hear.
After a pause to think, Preston continued, "we are starting the bidding at £20,000! Anyone for a versatile slave such as this one right here?!"
Already hands were flying up and the bidding war had started.
"£25,000!" An old man shouted from afar. "£30,000!" Another man called, "£50,000!" A woman yelled from behind my seat just as the bidding continued to go higher and higher.
"That boy is cute, I like cute," Cathryn bit her lip mischievously before raising her hand in the air, "£100,000!"
I widened my eyes exactly like the boy stood on the stage did and Preston chuckled.
"Is anyone going to try outbid the princess?" He challenged everyone who was undecided on whether to bid anymore than they had or not.
That was until another voice rose the bidding.
