Haruhi Fujioka x Fem!Reader: ...So what?
(Y/N) = Your Name, (L/N) = Last Name
Disclaimer: I do not own Haruhi or the Host Club.
Thanks so much to Holly and Daichi (quotev) for requesting this and I'm so sorry it took so long or if it's not what you wanted!! I've just been so busy with school work that any chance I get to relax I'm either sleeping or doing something mindless. But here it is!! So sorry it's so short and shitty I'm kinda getting back into the writing swing.
"Why hello again, Princess (L/N)," came the always present voice of Tamaki as you entered the infamous music room.
"I'm no Princess," you sighed for your own benefit, knowing that Tamaki once again wouldn't listen to you. "Is Haruhi busy?"
"No, he has no appointments for the rest of the day, Ms. (L/N)," Kyoya inputted, not glancing up from his book.
"But (Y/N), you don't wish to spend time with another Host? I'm always open for a beautiful young woman like yourself-"
"Fuck off, Suoh," you groaned, fidgeting like always in your school uniform.
A dress. Of all things why did it have to be a dress?!
You walked away, leaving Tamaki sulking you might add, to go see the cute brunette boy sitting in the corner.
It was strange, what you felt for Haruhi. You had never set foot in the Host Club before he arrived, and never had intentions too. To put it simply, you were never interested in boys before. The few people you had told had figured it was just a part of your childish, tomboyish nature. You were so used to being one of the guys you had never started to develop interest. But you felt different, more different than normal, so you were so, so relieved that you felt something for Haruhi.
"Hello (Y/N)!" came the voice of the boy in question, as the big eyes gleamed at you happily. "What's up?"
"Just wondering if you wanted to go walk around..." You took a moment to gaze pointedly at the twins who were now acting as though they were out of some yaoi manga, and the swooning fangirls that came with it. "It's awfully stuffy in here."
"Sure. I have no more appointments," he grinned, and the pair of you walked out and waved to the other Hosts as you did.
"I can't believe you're still a part of that," you groaned as you were out of the room.
"I'm in debt. And besides, you still go," Haruhi pointed out.
"Yeah, to visit you and hang out with a friend. Not to swoon over fairy tale princes like apparently every other person with a vagina in this school."
Haruhi just laughed and shook his head. "Not all of them. Just most."
"Mmm," you just hummed and shrugged. "Whatever. Have you heard of the game Until Dawn?"
"Uh, yeah why?"
"I got it. Haven't played it. Figured I'd wait to see if you wanted to experience it with me...?" Your heart was racing. You were technically asking out Haruhi Fujioka. You never saw this coming. You never saw yourself wanting to date any time soon.
"Yeah, sounds fun!" Haruhi smiled, though something was off. He seemed...worried. "Tomorrow?"
"I'm down. You know where I live," you joked. Though something was still off.... "Is something wrong, Haruhi?"
"Wha-no, no," he assured hurriedly. "It's fine."
"Alright..." you sighed, brushing it off. "So how were classes today?"
"Pretty good, though the twins were a handful," he groaned playfully. "Yours?"
The pair of you continued walking around campus, joking around and laughing. It was great. There were so few people you could actually be yourself around, talking about sports and video games and not boys and clothes, but Haruhi was someone who made you feel...normal.
You two were both getting ready to part ways to go home for the night when Haruhi stopped you.
"You were right, (Y/N), something is wrong..." he took in a breath. "I've lied to you. To everyone except for the other Hosts."
"W-what do you mean?" you furrowed your brow and stared at the boy.
"I..." he breathed in. "(Y/N) I'm a girl. And I like you and have fun hanging out with you but I can't just lead you on anymore and I-I'm sorry and-"
You stopped listening. Haruhi was a girl...huh. Somehow you weren't surprised. And weirdly enough you weren't bothered.
So what? You still felt comfortable around hi-...her, you still enjoyed spending time with her. It's not like she had changed, you just had to change the way you referred to her.
"Okay," you shrugged. "So?"
Haruhi froze, gaping at you. "So...what?"
"Exactly. So what? You're still Haruhi Fujioka, right?"
"Y-yeah but..."
"I'm telling you. So what? I don't care. And if you're still down to play Until Dawn tomorrow...you know where to find me."
Haruhi just continued gaping at you until you left. It was a few minutes later that a smile crossed her face.
Maybe you were right. You both enjoyed each other's company and had feelings for each other.
So what if the two of you were different? The feelings were still there. And maybe...the two of you had chance.

...I'm sorry. I'm so sorry that one really sucked. I tried, you have my word on that. I'll try editing this in the near future to make it better.
