Dr. Oobleck x Reader: Stop
Another RWBY one!! Someone requested this speedster a long time ago, so I'm sorry it took so long to finally get around to it.
ALSOOOOO as of Volume 3, they gave him blue eyes, even though in Volumes 1 and 2 he had brown...? So, I like brown, and I'm sticking with brown. So there XD
(Y/N) = Your Name, (L/N) = Last Name
Disclaimer: We all know by now that I don't own this glorious series.
There is a certain tranquility that comes with gardening. Something about being alone, surrounded by flowers and vegetables and herbs that have sprouted at your hand, taking a barren area and filling it with colour and life, and the meticulous tasks of weeding, watering, mulching, planting, and more...it was wonderful for you.
Maybe that makes you sound old. Your students would certainly say it did.
You were a teacher at Beacon Academy, English Literature to be exact, and sometimes it was a taxing job. That was to be expected though, seeing as you taught what was considered to be a boring topic compared to fighting Grimm and getting ready for the Vytal Festival. They were rowdy teens raring for a fight, and you couldn't blame them for losing interest sometimes.
Still, you felt you were alright at keeping them in line. It was certainly an easier task than that of the history professor's.
Oh, sorry. Doctor.
He didn't earn that PhD for fun, thank you very much.
Sorry, perhaps it should be explained.
You and that speedster have been friends for a long time, having gone through school together and being a part of the same team back in the day. Now you and the ever-so-frantic dork taught together at the same school. Best friends forever, right?
"Good morning, Miss (Y/N)," that familiar voice rushed out. A blur passed you and suddenly you had a coffee in your hands and were staring at your favourite green haired man.
"Doctor," you grinned, sipping at the drink. "You gonna stop and smell the roses?"
"Not today my dear, but I'll see you around," and he rushed off, like always.
"Thanks for the drink," you breathed, not bothering to waste the effort calling after him.
This was the routine between the pair of you. Every morning it would be a hello, a coffee, an offer to stop and smell the roses, and a goodbye. Maybe you'd catch up in the evenings, mark tests together in the afternoon when classes weren't on, but the morning greetings were always a guarantee.
And therein lays the problem.
When you were kids it was okay, when you were teens it started a spark. And now with every visit you fell more and more in love with that bespectacled speedster.
Still, all professionalism aside, why would he go for you?
You were just his best friend.
Taking a final long swig of your coffee, you threw out the paper cup and turned your attention back to the weeding that had to be done before classes today.
