Lie Ren x Reader: The Vytal Festival

Thanks so much to DrunkOnAnime (quotev) for requesting this!! Always a pleasure to write for a beloved RWBY character :3.

I based this on the fight JNPR first has in Volume 3. I hope you don't mind that I created your team mates and your weapon, it's just a lot easier for me to write it like this.

Sorry if it's bad. I'm not great at writing fight scenes.

"And now," the voice of one of Beacon Academy's teachers, Professor Port, rang out, "it's time for the long awaited fight between team (T/N) from Vacuo and team JNPR from our own Beacon Academy!"

You barely registered the stadiums cheers, too busy in sizing up the situation.

Your own team were standing as the arena began to generate the setting. Azul, with his dark blue hair and eyes was standing relaxed and almost cocky as he loosely held his battle axe. Branco was prepared with his huge broadsword resting against him as he stood calmly and quietly as always. His sister Rose was glaring at one of JNPR's members menacingly (attempting too, at least. She's a little too cute for that) and was holding her Dust laced katana with a near death grip.

And then there was you, eyes locked on team JNPR as you thought of a strategy. Your weapon was a beautiful staff that could pack quite a punch, and also could turn into a sniper rifle. You loved it, and you tried to hold in a laugh as one of the members of team JNPR was staring at it admirably.

He was a cute guy, long black hair tied in a ponytail holding a streak of pink that matched his eyes. His outfit was green (Also accented with some pink) and he held two gun looking objects in his hands. His team consisted of a blond haired guy holding a sword and a shield, a gorgeous red head holding a spear and a shield (she would be the strongest opponent, you felt) and a cute girl wearing a fair amount of pink and wielding an insane looking hammer.

You had finished appraising them when the stage for your fight was set. Half of it was some forest area while the other half was a rocky area with a mountain that had a thunder storm brewing above it. You smiled. This would be fun.

"3,2,1" the countdown boomed throughout the stadium.

"C'mon guys!" you heard the blond one from JNPR say.

"Let's kick their sorry butts!" Azul yelled to you all. "(Y/N), trees for cover. You know what to do."

"Sir, yes Sir!" you mocked, just as the match began and cheers ran loudly through the stadium.

Immediately you turned on your heels, running to the cover of the forest, and hopped up into one of the trees. You watched as the others were fighting up close and personal while you were shifting your staff into the sniper rifle, and quickly took aim.

The only one who wasn't close to your team mates was the cute black haired boy you saw before, so you shrugged and began firing at him. Unfortunately, that's what caused the others on his team to notice your tactics.

It wasn't long before the blond was yelling at his team to retreat.

That made you sigh. You weren't fond of waiting for your prey to come out. But they would. And you'd be ready.
