We sat on the hill watching the night sky. Illuminated by moonlight, I looked into his eyes. In silence we sat, sharing the near breathless moment. "If only this moment could last." I said returning my gaze to the expanse of land before us. "We can." he said gently. "We both know we cant. There is to much in our lives that hold us back." I said. "Like?" I looked at him once more and he looked back at me knowingly. We are nothing more than distant friends no matter how much it kills me. This, is but a hope and dream." I said. Moments later I awoke from my sleep. With a sigh, I prepared myself for the day ahead. I longed for it all to be real, but I know it will never be. I know that it falls upon a heart of stone, stronger by words of hate. Both of us once broken, but only one beyond repair. One mended by time, one broken further by time. One is free, one still wears old chains. Yet a laugh, a word, a glance passes freely, under the cover of a prion the both share, poised as a place of learning.
