"Clear," the doctor said.

They were trying to revive him.

"Clear," the doctor said again.

Whatever they were doing it wasn't working.

This can't be happening.

No!

I can't lose Ethan... I won't!

"Stop," I said. "Stop," I said loudly, and rushed to Ethan's side.

I sat on his bed, lifted and cradled his upper body, so that his back was resting against my chest. I wrapped my arms around him.

"Don't do this to me," I said. "Ethan, you can't do this to me. You can't leave me!" I cried out. "Breathe with me, sweetheart," I said. "Breathe with me!" I forced out.

"Ethan! Breathe with baby... You gotta breathe with me," I demanded. "Listen to my heart beating. Follow my voice and come back to me, baby please... I can't live without you... Ethan..." I started sobbing.

"Come on, baby, please. Breathe with me... Ethan," I cried as I held onto him tight.

Oh god, please don't take him away from me. Oh god, please.

"Ethan," I stammered out.

"Don't leave me," I sobbed.

Then a beep...

My sob seized immediately.

"Ethan?"

"He's back," the doctor said in shock, and immediately moved into action.

"I... Oh god. Thank god," I exhaled, and started sobbing even more.

I was immediately asked to step aside to check his vitals.

The doctor was shaking his head in disbelief as he turned to face me.

He had a smile on his face. "He's one lucky man, Mrs. Henderson. His vitals are stable. I'm going to run a few test and if his results are good, we'll slowly take him out of his induced coma," the doctor said.

I nodded as I wiped my tears away.

I look back at Ethan.

"Don't ever do that to me again," I said. "Don't you ever scare me like that," I sniffed.

I fell on the chair and buried my face on his arm and cried.

I was so scared. I almost lost him.

I pulled back and prayed.

"I know that for a long time I lost my faith. When Ethan left me, everything around me fell apart, and I questioned you...believed that you were punishing me. But you blessed me with the most incredible gift, reminding me that you have not abandoned me," I said, my voice strained with emotions. "You blessed me with an amazing little girl. And you gave him back to me, but I turned him away, and now you're threatening to take him back, so I'm begging. I need him," I sobbed out. "Don't take him away from me. Please..." I begged, as my tears continued to roll down my cheeks.

Another week later...

"We just have to wait for him," the doctor said.

The doctor has completely taken Ethan out of his induced coma, and now we just have to be patient and wait for him to wake up.

"His tests are good. His vitals are good. I have every confidence that he's going to be okay and make a full recovery," the doctor said with a smile.
