"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" I hiss as Maddox drags me away. He's already dragged me all the way up to the pack house and into his damned room.
The only reason I can't kick his ass is the fact that his grip is like iron.
"Sit down." He coldly demands and I roll my eyes.
"No way. I just did you a favor and Ari killed him! Not to mention you dragged me out like a madman!" I argue and Maddox's face turns absolutely rigid and covered in anger.
"You were out of control." Maddox answers in a cold hard-lined voice.
"I was not out of control. I was getting answers!"
"Your eyes turned red!" Maddox boomed and I narrowed my eyes at him.
"What?"
"You heard what I said. Your irises turned red. You didn't even look the slightest bit human." He says as if making an observation. "So sit down and let me check-"
"No. I'm not having you check on me again. I have gone through so much crap within the last 24 hours and I don't even know why." I snap.
"Elair. Sit." Maddox commands and I growl.
"Stop ordering me around!" I retort.
"Then just sit down." Maddox says in a restrained voice, his anger is displayed in blazing eyes and I ball my hands up into fists.
"No." I defy and Maddox releases a long breath.
"Sit!" He yells and I don't flinch, I only fold my arms over my chest.
"I said... sit!" Maddox roared at me. I arched a brow and sighed.
"And I said, no. But then again, who's gonna listen to poor little Elair?" I retort as I pull my blonde hair into a ponytail. "Listen, Cross, I get it. You're the Alpha, the leader, the killer, the whatever. But I'm not yours to push around. Your whiney little Alpha voice is 'killing' me." I say sarcastically. In one swift movement, Cross decides to try and push me against the wall, but I catch him just fast enough to twist his damned arm around his back.
I use my sharp heel to kick him down and I smirk as I watch him squirm underneath me.
"And that, my dear friends, is how you make the Alpha 'heel'." I say as I release him. "Too bad I don't have an audience." I say as I walk to his office and grab one random book off the shelf to read.
"Why can't you just let me do something?" He asks and I roll my eyes as I take a seat on the reclining chair.
"Because you can't and I don't have a major issue. Fix me, sure. Give me a mate bond since it looks like its been missing. But don't you ever think that you have control over me, Cross." I hiss but just as he walks over to me, a flicker of black catches my eye. Maddox has seen it too, because we both look out the windows and find a single person standing in the trees.
Maddox growls and I know he's mind-linking someone. I look at the figure and feel a burning pain climb up my body. I spot four wolves coming for him from the pack house and I look away, deciding that reading was not the best thing. I put the book on the chair, got up, and walked back over to the room section and picked up my guns.
"You guys have a shooting range?" I ask and Maddox looks over at me as I pull out my two guns and strap my holster on.
"I'll take you there." He says simply, back to his cold exterior and overly well-controlled self.
